The hospitality by the staff are superb! They are very friendly and response to our request is fast. Although the breakfast is not buffet style but it still come with varieties and simply tasty for us. We love the beach, pool and the quiet ambience. The sea is so clear and the hotel provides free snorkeling gear and kayak. Free ride is also given by the staff to Walking Street and you just need to Whatsapp them on the pick-up time. The only bad point we have with the hotel is they don't provide spare key to the room. So the air-conditioning is off when you leave the room and when you return, is like sauna! Anyway we will definitely come back to Koh Lipe again and won't mind staying back at Asara too.

Asara resort is the best place to stay if you want to relax and visit the island!
We’ve spent 5 days in this hotel , we visited most of the beaches around koh Lipe and definitely Asara’s beach is one of the most beautiful spots for snorking and swimming, it’s quiete and not crowded.
We loved to stay on the sunbeds next to the pool , go swimming in the sea , take a shower and enjoy the wonderful view , it was so relaxing!!!
The rooms were big , seaview with a jacuzzi on the terrace , air conditioning , small kitchen and with a huge bathroom, it was lovely to wake up in the morning with that sea view!!!
The staff was amazing Chacha helped us with the speed boat reservation and made everything we asked during our stay easy.
Miso and Joe the taxi drivers were very kind and friendly , the taxi service was very fast and quick, a whatsapp and they came to pick up us wherever we were in the island .
The breakfast staff was also very kind and nice , breakfast wasn’t a buffet but was great, clean and good quality.
There were 2 dogs that were part of Asara the puppy was so cute , it was so fun to c him playing around with the older dog all the time!!!
All Asara’s staff did there best to make our holiday fabulous , and it was!!
Thank you all we will be back soon!!

resort. An amazing resort located on the west side of the island on the sunset beach.
The staff was friendly and ready to satisfy all our request. Miss Chacha, was very efficient at the reception and the accommodation was great. We enjoined a double room with a big terrace with jacuzzi seaview. The resort provides a nice taxi service to the famous walking road from morning to late. The breakfast was good, the food was great and fresh and the staff very nice.
Our stay was very pleasant and we
will definitely come again.

This place is amazing. So private and beautiful.
The staff is extremely friendly and the reception fix everything you need. From booking of boat trips, massage and laundry.
Excellent service.
The rooms are big, clean and comfortable, lovely terrass with koh lipes best view.
Staff drives you to walking street (2 min drive), 7 min walk.
We stayed for 23 nights. 2 adults, 2 kids.
We can highly recommend this place.

Asara is strange. It’s the smallest resort I’ve ever been to at only 12 total rooms. It doesn’t feel at all like a resort but rather a property that some Thai bought, built some decent rooms, and slapped together something that represents what a resort might/should look like. It feels empty. It’s so quiet that you feel like you’re at a private home. It’s apparent that Asara is trying but is currently a little murky in its execution.

The good:

- The private beach is the selling point. It’s quiet, steps from your room, and beautiful. Offers reasonable snorkeling and a gorgeous sunset.
- Free, self-service kayak and snorkeling available right on the beach.
- The pool is right next to the beach and allows for great lounging and views. Pool temp is perfect.
- The views from each room are incredible as each condo sits “stadium-style” on a hillside.
- The condos are big! 3 rooms each: living, bathroom, and bedroom. Plus large patio.
- The outdoor jacuzzi on the patio of each condo is AWESOME. Beautiful views right from the jacuzzi on your own private patio/deck.
- Bed is very comfy!
- The service team is friendly and helpful.
- Free taxi/shuttle service around the island until 8:50pm daily.
- The Wi-Fi is fantastic and works both in the rooms and on the beach without issue.

The average:

- There are no phones in the rooms but the receptionist provided their WhatsApp information so we could request room service directly from WhatsApp.
- The main lobby facility is outdoors and has water features (including a prominent water fountain front and center) but all water features were off and empty, making the ambience feel empty and abandoned.
- The complimentary breakfast was decent but it was difficult for the kitchen staff to get our order correct. They seem to be confused by western breakfast item names as I received French toast instead of regular toast with butter.
- The landscaping could probably be improved. There is a lot of grass but it doesn’t look healthy and should probably be replaced with something a bit more tropical.
- Lighting around the resort at night is lacking. Accent lighting should be more plentiful around the grounds.
- Kinda far from the hub of Koh Lipe. About a 30 minute walk to Walking Street.
- We paid $253USD which is a bit steep in my opinion. I would never pay more than $300 for this resort and $250 is pushing it.

The bad:

- There is a poolside bar, but it’s essentially just a shell of a bar. It’s got a sink and a fridge of sodas, juices, and beer. No wine. No cocktails. No full service bar whatsoever. The bartender shows up around 2-3pm and leaves around 6pm (which sucks because I wanted another beer before sunset!). The bartender performs the following actions: asks you what you want to drink, opens the fridge, and gives you the requested drink. That’s it. The bar needs to either be self-service OR revamped to include a full cocktail menu. It also needs to be open longer. They should setup a security camera and allow guests to serve themselves. No need for a bartender if the drink selection remains the same. Especially since this resort is so small and there will never be more than ~20 guests on any given day.
- Well at least there is a minibar in your room...NOPE! No minibar whatsoever! We had to go into town to buy beer to enjoy the jacuzzi. Come on Asara! You have a mini fridge in the room but no minibar?!
- Room service must have alcohol then! NOPE! Menu only had beer available. Sad!
- The loungers around the pool are those white, plastic kind. They look super cheap and aren’t all that comfortable.
- The bathroom sinks only have a cold water faucet, no hot water.
- There are no towel hooks in the condos. I never knew how much I used towel hooks until they weren’t there.
- The hot water to fill the jacuzzi takes a long time due to low water volume and can sometimes get cold. You have to babysit it.
- There are some things that are falling apart. The trim surrounding the jacuzzi was chipping off. There was some structural damage under some of the decks clearly visible (presumably from a leaky jacuzzi underside). Some condos had broken patio banisters.
- There is no TV in the bedroom, only the living room.
- Bugs, including ants and spiders, like to come inside and make themselves known. It wasn’t a lot but it was noticeable. We even had a frog visit on the balcony. The frog wasn’t so bad but the insects weren’t great.

There is a lot of potential for Asara. There are things that could be done to give it more of a resort feel. Paying attention to the details would be a good starting point. As it stands right now, Asara has fantastic rooms at a great location but misses some of the finer details. Luckily, the good outweighs the bad...for now. Only time will tell if the resort is maintained.

We stayed for 8 nights in the upgraded Villa. Very spacious room with a beautiful view over the ocean, beach, pool & jacuzzi on the verandah. This is one of the better properties in Koh Lipe. Great location - plenty of coral reef and marine life to see from the private beach and close to the main walking street of Koh Lipe. A key feature for Asara is their very friendly, helpful, professional staff - they truely make you feel at home.

They offer a Complimentary taxi service around the island, which is is very handing & a great service.

Room service menus - food quality was amazing. The Breakfast menu thou is a little limited / boring - compared to other hotels in Thailand (they really need to work on the Breakfast options).

If they spent a little more time maintaining the gardens, lawn and facilities of the property - the venue would be truely 5 Star.

Overall we enjoyed our experience and would definitely be back again

The place is quite new, but if you paid US$225 a night, you will expect to get 4 star service to be fair.

The room is spacious, but no place to hang used towels and we kept asking for extra towels. Pillows are too high for me. Not enough hangers in the room. Shower is either very hot or cold. I think the system has not been commissioned well.

There is no phone in the room. You have to walk up to the reception every time you want something.

Location is not bad, very quiet compare to the sunrise beach side, especially they provide shuttle to thewalking street.

Staff are working very hard to make our stay comfortable. They are very friendly but inexperienced. I believed they are understaffed. We had lunch in our room the first day, and we had to take them out ourselves 4 hours later.

No turn down service. Not much service except they would clean the room once in the afternoon.

Villa 1 is closed to the main road, so noisy at night, but it also closer to the reception and restaurant if you don'twant to walk the stairs. There is garbage smell from time to time.

I think this hotel has a lot of potential but a lot of work needs to be done, such as install hooks for used towels in the bathroom area, provide extra towels and hangers, provide free bottled water and fruits, also they also need a good chef. Breakfast does not meet our standard.

Ko Lipe has the most amazingly beautiful and healthy coral reef I ever seen. It's a shame that the island is full of garbage, and sanitary standard is low. Very few good and clean restaurants in town. No real 5 star hotels here. Yet, I will be back for the beautiful coral reef.

Although not located near to the walking street, but there is free transport from the hotel to the walking street. Hotel staff were nice and helpful. Love the outdoor jacuzzi. Hotel relatively clean. Breakfast not buffet style and choices limited but overall was good. Would still recommend for a short stay to watch the sunset from the hotel.

I should start by saying that Ko Lipe, and in particular Asara location, is really really beautiful.

However, Asara hotel is really not worth the money you pay.

The rooms are dirty (the WC was...BLACK! and the beed sheets and sofas with stains) and not well maintained (mould on the walls and stains on the floor).

Most importantly, if you go there to rest in quietness...forget it! There is a really noisy generator next to half of the rooms and it makes lot of noise at night.

Also, the resort has been built in a really distructive way for the environment and all the soaps they provide are not eco friendly at all (I would have normally not noticed it but the bath shower makes really so much foam and you can imagine it going directly in the beautiful ocean in front of you).

Breakfast is really average with just a few (salty) dishes and not much choice (ok for a B&B but not for a 4 star hotel).

The staff (cleaning ladies and cooking staff) is really nice and all these mistakes are not their fault but due to bad management .

This posh little beach resort has everything I look for. The room was exceptional yet simple. Very comfortable beds, plenty of outlets to charge phones, a great shower with ample hot water, etc. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had excellent options for all tastes. I loved the fresh fruit and yogurt, plus eggs and bacon prepared to order.

The staff was super friendly and helpful without being intrusive. They offered to carry my bags, escort me to my room and spoke excellent English.

The pools were FANTASTIC! An infinity pool with swim up bar was right on the beach. My room overlooked a 50 meter pool with glass tile bottom that was crystal clear, great for play or laps. Plus the beach offered crystal clear water on a coral reef.

This is exactly what I look for in a hotel!

I think you need to fly to arrange, the boats aren't going from Phuket since season is from nov-April, but you can still go. You can fly to Phuket or Krabi and take a minivan to Pak Bara and take the boat. The small islands seldom have transfer and I like, but it is very easy to do yourself. Yes you can swim and snorkel at the beach. There are also great snorkeling trips. I can recommend Ko Lipe Diving for that.
