Interesting property with lovely rooms off courtyard and good quality breakfast featuring local produce. Bed was comfortable and the courtyard location was peaceful. Overall we enjoyed our one-night stay.

The two stars are purely for the hotel room experience. The George Inn staff were faultless. The restaurant and food was also very good and pub was as quaint and charming as we were hoping. But we had the misfortune of being placed in the frankly poor building opposite known as 'The Plaine' guesthouse. We booked this hotel through Expedia...

was a great surprise to find a historic inn kept in such fascinating condition. We were initially taken aback due distance from Bath, but once we checked it in, it all changed. We decided not to go to Bath, and just enjoy the evening there. Food and drinks were great.

Excellent stay; such an interesting pub, full of history. Great room, with quirky & unique character. Love the bar and the different rooms, there's even a dungeon. The food and breakfast were fabulous.

Visited the George for a family get-together and although the building is very quaint, and holds a great deal of history, the food was a little dissapointing We had all pre-ordered our food, but still the kitchen struggled with some starters. The small portions which were ordered for the children were expensive for the size. The pub unfortunately, is not...

An amazing place to stay with a top notch breakfast! The whole place was dripping with atmosphere and history and beautifully refurbished. The staff were kind and helpful. We had a super time here and recommend it heartily.

We stayed in the hotel and this reviewed separately. We had breakfast and dinner on both days of our stay. First dinner we were seated in the Dungeon, dinner was good, prompt and satisfying. The next morning both my husband and I had full English breakfasts which were a good size with quality ingredients. Plenty of choice to have pastries,...

A good size car park and a rambling pub filled with history. We had a wholesome and tasty lunch washed down with an ale sat in a grand window seat next to an empty fire as it was spring. We imagined the same scene on a winters evening with the fire warming the room - it is a little like...

My wife and I recently stayed in The George Inn as a stop over on our way to Bristol. The hotel is a very historic building dating back around 700 years. The room we stayed in was a really good size, and very comfortable. Being 6'3" I did need to mind my head as some doors and beams are low...

The room was lovely, mattress a tiny bit lumpy but comfortable, lovely towels and the view was beautiful. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food served during the evening meal was absolutely gorgeous, we arrived back from Bath slightly late but the Chef was very helpful and quickly prepared us exactly what we wanted. A good choice of wine.
