Called in after seeing the stunning building - was not disappointed - historic setting, great attentive service and lovely food. All 3 of us enjoyed our meals and a nice pint of Wadworth too. Well worth a visit.

The George is a lovely old pub and the rooms, bar etc all ooze "oldness". The food was excellent, evening meal and both breakfasts, also good value for money. However the accommodation charge at £150 to £180 for 1 room (2 people) seems a bit steep (but it must be "the going rate". Our room was quirky and my sister-in-laws...

Perfect little retreat, beautiful and old with lovely views. We felt like we were miles away from anywhere but only just outside of Bath. Much better option than fighting for a car parking space in the city centre.

We love this pub, the atmosphere is great and the building is beautiful. Our meal delicious and as one of us is a Coeliac. The George has been approved by the Coeliac Society and the kitchen staff have been trained by them. They provide 2 menus, one ordinary and the other gluten free. There are only a few items that...

A unique and beautiful place steeped in history. Dog-friendly for eating. Well cooked food served promptly. Duck breast perhaps a little overcooked for our taste (would be nice to be able to specify); Wadworth batter excellent (on the fish) and perfect chips - crispy outside but fluffy and soft inside. Went for lunch. Didn't stay over however...fully recommend for food.

Like being in a time warp. Beautiful surrsoundings and an ambience that really few places I've ever been can match. The food had a good range of dinner and breakfast options, all cooked to a high standard, and was compliment by good friendly service. Highly recommended as long as you can get out to Norton St Philip (which you'll need...

Really lovely welcoming staff, fabulous room with four poster bed, a building truly steeped in history - it is a wonderful place. We had a lovely meal in front of a roaring fire - and having read some of the scary reviews about people experiencing ghostly things - pleased to report all was quiet in the night! Highly recommend this...

Fantastic old building, lovely room with amazing four poster bed and lovely food. We booked it because it was dog friendly. The food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast with friendly efficient service.
