Our family enjoyed our overnight stay in the Kajikasou Hotel!! Every staff member had おもてなし (Omotenashi) as soon as we arrived at the entrance. Our room was very big and beautiful!! It provided a massage chair which my daughter said she enjoyed it! For dinner our meal started out with pear aperitif from pear from yamagata prefecture, yonezawa beef shabu...

My two kids and I just had a fun weekend away in Yamagata. After a lovely drive through the mountains we arrived at Kajikaso. It is a wonderful family run hot-spring hotel in the middle of Onogawa Hot-spring town. The owner Mr Sato-san is fluent English speaking with a friendly and warm personality. The Ryokan (hotel) is beautifully decorated in...

Kajikaso is a superb Japanese Onsen located in the heart of Japan's snow country of Yamagata, Tohoku. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the Kajikaso owner, Mr Sato. His family has been running this famous ryokan for many generations. Thus, they know service! Rooms are spacious, and well resourced with all amenities. Many have personal massage chairs! What a...

I had the pleasure of visiting Kajikaso Ryokan during January. I was immediately impressed with the welcoming staff of the Ryokan. We were greeted by the friendly staff, who seated us in the lobby while they sorted out our checking in process. While the staff didn't speak much English, they were welcoming and friendly. The owner Sato-san does speak English...

This was our family's first overnight experience at a ryokan onsen. I was a bit apprehensive with two young children, but these fears soon disappeared after our arrival. The staff was welcoming and friendly (even when our kids were rambunctious). We absolutely loved the private family onsen room. I highly recommend reserving this room if you are visiting with kids....

We have two small children and have been nervous about staying at a Ryokan, but the owner Sato immediately put us at ease. He offered sleds for the children to use on the small ski hill (a 10 Minute walk from the Ryokan), and even had a choice of slippers for our 2 year old. Kajikaso Ryokan has a family...

The highlight of staying in a ryokan is always it dinner. Yonezawa beef Shabu Shabu served at Kajikaso was divine. It may not be as famous as Kobe beef, but Japanese count Yonezawa beef as one of top 3 beef in Japan, so you just have to come and try it and you won't regret it.

Our family lives in Sendai, and friends recommended the Kajikaso Ryokan in Yonezawa as a great place for a weekend getaway. And how right they were. This past weekend my wife and I made the easy 2 hour drive from Sendai to Yonezawa and found this lovely ryokan, surrounded by the recent snowfalls. Before dinner we took baths in the...

this is the first time my wife and i have done a ryokan onsen in a region of Japan (onezawa) known for wagyu Japanese beef. Amazing meal, excellent service - private japanese style room overlooking the pond, very pleasant onsen. I have been to probably over 50 different ryokan onsen in the last four years... i would recommend for beginners...
