I went with my mom, dad and brother and booked two rooms for the 4 of us. The chalets were really private and super comfortable! Air conditioning is cold and the futons were soft and get better than many hotel beds I’ve slept in. The private onsens are well maintained, and the public ones give you a great view of the stars at night.

It’s a really quiet, safe place that’a really convenient for anything you might want. We spent most days out exploring, but I’d come back just to lay around in the ryokan all day.

First, I was amazed at its room. The room had fabulous facility. Second, I was surprised at the taste of its dinner. The highlight was grilled beef. It was best beef I've ever tasted. I just loved the taste and cannot forget it. Onsen was so good and we had pleasant stay here. I highly recommend this place.

We have visited "Wa no Yado Sagiritei" twice now, two years apart, and like it as much the second time as the first, a very quiet, well-managed more-or-less traditional ryokan with excellent service and great kaiseki meals. The outdoor onsen is also great, while the in-room bath now features a television (not so traditional, I guess).

Been here a few years ago and still missing the place. Yufuin is a great Onsen town, it has alot of small onsen hotel, which most of them are known for its small size, ranging form 6 rooms to 20s. This one had 10 rooms and built with 5 semi detached house, all in tatami and a semi private or enclosed private bath, with 2 outdoor public bath for each sex. Food are lavish and in great quality, just too many dishes that we cannot finish them. and price tag is much cheaper than Kinki or Kento nearby. The service are great, I have lost a coin bag in taxi, though the hotel staff cannot speak English, by writing they understand what is happening and helped efficiently. Down side is the room does not offers view, you can search and be able to find rooms/hotel had a view but price will be quite different.

We have get a bus tour the next morning to Aso, which is nice but a rush, recommend to do 2 nights if you eant to take the same route as I did, otherwise should stay in the onsen town in the maximum of time.
