Part of a tour of Japan on business. One night here and could not have been better. Wonderful service, beautiful location and amenities. Great value too. 5 stars are deserved. All the staff were clearly committed to offering top service. They succeeded.

Room Tip: Either eat in or be prepared for restaurants outside to close very early! About 6pm!

Also only had one night and did not use the onsen, but the location is great, the food and service very good.
We had 2 x king single beds that were very comfortable, and a large wet room & separate toilet as our en-suite, so very comfortable stay.
Would recommend this hotel, even though we needed a taxi to find it as there is no English written outside.

Each item left behind was cute and soothing.
I felt like it was sincere rather than gorgeous or sophisticated.
Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and I was happy to see how much they enjoyed cooking!
There were a lot of foreign staff, but everyone seemed to like Japan and was happy to work there!
Thank you very much.

Good location on the main street with great views of the mountains from the balcony. Traditional ryokan. Had a two level room with the sleeping area upstairs. Unfortunately didn't get time to try the onsen. Traditional food and good service.

I picked this hotel because it is one of the very few that is non smoking in this area. Plus, it is one of the few that is situated on the actual shopping street (actually, you don't need to be so close paying such high price).
My room is double storey one with twin beds on level one and another single bed on level 2. It does have a majestic view of the mountain from the balcony. Dinner and breakfast are average. The onsen is the worst in my entire Kyushu trip - the indoor one is a tiny bath house and no lights was switched on at the outdoor onsen - which is the size of probably 3 bathtubs..
I would pick another ryokan off the shopping belt because the rest aren't that far off. Those offer better meals and onsen.
Service is very good though...but the room is priced too high,
