We stayed a night as a family of 2 adults and a 7 year old. Private bath was unavailable while we stayed but it wasn't a huge issue. We had fun going around the different onsens in town donning the yukatas. A cozy place to return to during the winter night we stayed. Dinner was

The two baths in the hotel (one for women, one of men) are not heavily used as far as I could tell. Most people are interested in the larger public baths. I used the baths twice - one time no one was there, the second time, the person was just leaving. They are small, but nice, and I had it to myself.

I recently stayed at Yamamotoya. Unless you have an extraordinary amount of luggage there would seem to be room. There is also an entry area with a bit of extra space.
