Miyajima is ranked as one of the top three scenic spots in Japan, and we enjoyed our visit because we were able to spend a night on the island at Hotel Kikunoya. We arrived at the Miyajima ferry terminal and requested for the Information Desk to help us call the hotel for the courtesy pick-up, and a driver came in... More

Nice hotel with excellent location about 5 mins walk away from the torii gate. The pick up/drop off service from the pier was really prompt and efficient too. My room was really comfortable, with a sink and cosmetics (bathing takes places communal in the onsen downstairs), the onsen facilities were also really good. Staff were extremely kind and helpful, especially... More

We spent one night here. The hotel was nice, rooms are basic and a bit dated but comfortable and all u need. The island is beautiful. However, if u arrive late there are limited places to eat. Many of the shops close after the majority of day tours have left the island.

10-15 mins walk from port. Welcoming staff once a few words of Japanese uttered. Room was smallish and walls were thin. Bathroom and room were clean. Staff will pick you up and drop you back to port...no charge! Onsen was lovely with an indoor and outdoor bath. We chose Japanese over western breakfast and it was lovely. Served by a... More

Excellent service with this hotel. The room is small by North American standards, but decent size by Japanese standards. There is a sink, a toilet, a flat screen TV and a small fridge. For bathing, there is a shared onsen (public bath), and its a neat experience. English instructions on how to conduct yourself in an onsen are provided by... More

Very good, i would say excellent if the room was a little bit nicer. They are good but not great. The onsen is so nice and the bar with the hot water is a wonderful experiencie. I would totally recommend it. Very good price/quality relation. They also lent us two old bikes but more than enough to move around the... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. It is only 5-10 minutes walk to Itsukushima Shrine and this is where you should stay if you want to catch the great torii at sunrise or sunset! Although the hotel looks a little far from the pier, you can request a free shuttle to and fro just by calling the hotel. Their service is... More

facilities seem rather new, location is good very close to the great tori and its shrine. i appreciate the pick up from the pier service, the ten-course meal was amazing but the breakfast the next day was disappointing, tasteless and cold. The two springs were ok but do not expect if there's any view or amazing decor. The most disappointing... More

Tucked in one of the quiet streets of Miyajima but still providing quick access to the bustling touristy areas, this hotel provides a breathing space for weary visitors. Our Japanese-style room with tatami mats was the best place for an afternoon nap and also provided a good night’s sleep as the futons were comfortable. It also helps that there is... More
