Yanagawa is small and its people are friendly. There are three bars in town, one is over the road from the hotel. The generosity and helpfulness of the people can be found in an outside the hotel. The rooms are traditional Japanese and they have fresh flowers in the room. We got free entry into the local museum and onsen....

When in Fukuoka Pref you have to go to Ohana in Yanagawa. There's so much history and there's a museum with pieces from the daimyo era. The hotel is family owned. Also you can go by boat on the canals in Yanagawa which is wonderful. Try the Yanagawa specialty, eel. The restaurants in Ohana serve the most delicious food. There's...

We booked Ohana through Japanese Guesthouse and everything was done very efficiently. We stayed for 3 nights during the 1st week of December 2010. 2 nights were with dinner+breakfast @ Y15,000 per person excl tax in a japanese room for 2 of us. The 3rd night was with breakfast but without the kaiseki dinner @ Y9,000 pp. The great thing...
