Just finished a great week at Playa Viva. Located south of Zihuatinejo, Playa Viva is a great place to just escape from the grid, and relax. The treehouse rooms are spacious and comfortable. The beach is secluded and huge--moreover, you have it all to your self. Resort stayers are the primary users. The staff (including Johnny, Julia, Abraham, Olga, Antonio,...

Just returned from my 3rd visit to Playa Viva. This year they have added several new casitas, and I was able to stay in the new Tree House, which is a tubular shaped bedroom open to the breeze and ocean sounds, with an attached open porch/lounge area and bathroom (just down a short flight of stairs from the sleeping area)....

KLD, Thanks for being a frequent guest at Playa Viva. We appreciate your returning again and again to find rest, relaxation, peace, privacy and a little immersion into natural luxury. Glad you got to the one of the first guests to enjoy the new treehouse. Thank you. David

I had heard about Playa Viva about a year ago and just when I was making arrangements for a stay in October, their first treehouse was scheduled to be completed! With great excitement, I booked it and was not sure what to expect. When I arrived it was beyond anything I had imagined. The architecture and design of the treehouse...

After visiting Playa Viva in 2011, 2012 & 2013, it was so wonderful to return in 2015 and open the season with David, Julia, Jonny and the team. Playa Viva is simply special and a great place to unwind & relax. The rhythmic sound of the ocean, the baby turtles, great food, a swim in the pool - WOW! Every...

The location, food, staff and amenities were wonderful. The materials used and the design of the place gives it a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in such a beautiful setting. And seeing the turtles being released was so special. Also, the new buildings added are incredible and architecturally stunning.

A beautiful setting inspiring wonder and relaxation! From the separate rooms with their own unique design using local and sustainable wood, the unspoiled empty beach, the pool, and the careful and thoughtful design throughout Playa Viva, in harmony with the natural setting, what more could you ask for? If that would be good food, there is also great 'real' Mexican...

Beautifully designed and built—right on the beach. They make you feel at home right away, and give you the chance to connect with other guests and visit local “green” businesses. Creativity, simplicity and quality is their hallmark, from the guest rooms -- each set apart, and built on stilts -- to the food served, family style. Start the day with...
