We had a good time and excellent view of several mountains, .The onsen was very nice and loved the jacuzzi part and view was great. We stayed over nite and had the meal option this too was very good especially if you love seafood. The room had a western bed (super single)with real pillows and big fluffy comforter and the...

A modern hotel located high up in the mountains. Hotel provided a pickup service from Tokamachi Stn. When we checked in a huge crowd of day trippers were checking out. Rooms were large with view of surrounding mountains. We went for a walk along the road outside the hotel and this led to a very charming village with wooden buildings....

Language can always be a big problem in Japan especially if you don’t speak Japanese and travelling alone in a small town in winter. However, the decision of my recent staying at Unkai, Tokamachi was absolutely the right choice. As a foreigner who cannot speak Japanese, making booking by telephone can be a big problem.
