This old monastery is so worth visiting. Up in the mountains with amazing views and very peaceful. Great place for a wedding or friends gathering. Restaurant fine with good Italian food and friendly staff. Hotel staff very welcoming and helpful about walking routes or local interest. Rooms fine, 3 star and comfortable but we stayed in the cheaper ones. Wonderful...

What a fabulous view when rounding the corner on the dirt and stone, cypress-lined approach road to see this abbey set on the hillside. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room, spartan but large enough with a small window overlooking the hillside. The location is perfect for hiking, visiting small villages in the Valnerina and the famous Marmore...

We ended our week long hike through vineyards, villages and mountains of Umbria in this secluded spot in the valley of the Nera. Coming around a final bent of the gravel road you behold this picturesque Abbey, turned into a beautiful hotel. The renovation work kept some of the monastic atmosphere and assure for a most romantic and authentic stay....

This hotel is without doubt one the most unique and charming places I've stayed in Italy. My fiance and I are getting married here in September and currently planning our honeymoon in Tuscany, but it's been a real struggle to find anywhere that can match the beauty, tranquility and of course the breathtaking views this hotel offers. We stayed in...

this is an old church next to a monastery that was turned into a hotel situated on top of a beautiful road overlooking the valley and the woods around. the view is really breathe taking and driving the narrow road towards it is spectacular. i did not stay in the hotel and just enjoyed the view.

Really great hotel in an excellent and beautiful location - good for walkers and hikers. Room rather noisy with old plumbing but the view more than made up for it. Staff great and very helpful. Quite remote and therefore very quiet and restful. Highly recommended for getting away from it all!

The Abbey is in a beautiful setting and it definitely felt like a privilege to be able to stay in the wonderful old building. The room was a little dark and the bathroom cramped, but then it can’t have been easy adapting the rooms to make a hotel. The grounds offer numerous places to sit and take in the views,...

This hotel is an idyllic place to rest and take in the amazing surrounds of Umbria. The room was excellent, the staff friendly and welcoming, the terrace one of the best places we've sat to have a drink in all of our travels. The attached restaurant was quiet (middle of the week) and the food was some of the best...

Lovely peaceful spot. The Abbey is set among steep, heavily wooded hills hidden behind what looks like a very nice hotel. The basic structure is over 1000 years old. The frescoes are 12th century & remarkably lively. We didn't visit the hotel.

I cannot understand how anyone could possibly give this incredible place a rating less than the full five stars. We would give it six stars if possible. Sisters Chiara and Federica work hard with an excellent staff (esp. the man and woman who do the breakfast and also room cleaning) to provide seamless excellence as they bridge the joining of...
