Would just like to say ‘grazia’ to all the lovely staff and owners at Chalet Alaska, we had such a lovely ski trip, everyone was so lovely, we were the only English couple staying at the hotel with everyone else Italian, we felt so welcome and included.
We didn’t have children with us but would thoroughly recommend this hotel for those with kids, fantastic play area and a great child entertainer, kept them all amused each evening.
The food was delicious and plentiful, lovely little wellness area for relaxing those tired muscles at the end of the day!

They charge super expensive prices for such old hotel and in addition trying to stole deposits even if you dont get a room there. This place took deposit of 300 euro, gave our room to someone else and never returned the deposit. As part of their policy they want to take full payment before you arrive that is already suspicious. In our case they used the fact Booking failed to take second payment on time and canceled the booking. Instead of asking us for the payment or call us or send us any message or wait 1 day till we arrive - they gave our room to someone else. When we arrived to the hotel they refused to provide us a room neither return our 300 euro deposit back to us.

I am on vacation with my boyfriend, we are at the end of our adventure and I can confirm, after being there for several years, that the Hotel Chalet Alaska is the best in the valley. The food I put in first place, second there available and the friendliness of the staff and owners and finally in third place the rooms. The agency my in-laws used accidentally booked us at the wrong Hotel Alaska. There was a mix-up and we ended up at this location instead of the one at Selva di Val Gardena. We tried getting this fixed so that we could be with the rest of our party but we had no success and settled here instead. But by settling it was by no means a step down. I'm a true believer that things happen for a reason and we couldn't have asked for a better experience this past week. First off, the staff were amazing. They were very friendly and hospitable. At times we felt like we were being taken care of by family. The food was perfect; at times they'd even go out of their way to make us something that wasn't even on the menu. Location was prime, very central to the ski hills, the village and a short drive to other skiing options. The rooms were a decent size, nothing fancy but the perfect feel for a week-long skiing getaway. The people working in the village were also super friendly and helpful. Most of the tourists were Italian so it sort of felt like we had found a little hidden gem. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Dolomites.
