We stayed overnight here two weeks ago as part of a visit to Attingham Park. First impressions were very good and we had a lovely suite. Unfortunately the hotel's central heating had broken down and the weather had changed to be very cold that weekend. There was a small heater in the sitting room area but the bedroom, bathroom and...

I have visited here several times in the past both for a light meal and also for a Sunday lunch and have usually been very happy with the menu and the service. This time it was for a Sunday lunch. It was a 3 course menu at a fixed price and I feel it should have been for 2 courses...

This is a fabulous hotel. Food excellent. Lovely staff. Really good bar with a great selection of beers. Highly recommended. The room I staid in was in what looked like a converted stable block. Lovely accommodation. I will definitely use this hotel again.

It was a gorgeous sunny autumnal afternoon, and we decided to stop here for lunch. We sat outside and ordered free range chicken Caesar salad, a steak panini and a side of chips. The mains arrived fine, with the promise of the chips 'coming soon'. So we started on our lunch. Unfortunately, a few pieces of chicken in my salad...

We had a wonderful 1st wedding anniversary at the Mytton & Mermaid hotel, lovely spacious room, comfortable bed, beautiful surroundings and scenery. Staff lovely, helpful and efficient. Food excellent. Operations manager Stephen Abbott was outstanding in his professionalism and attitude and made an excellent host. We would recommend this hotel and will return at some point.

Booked here because we were attending a wedding at the Wroxeter Hotel and we could not get a room there due to being fully booked, first impression on arrival were good then slowly went down hill, walked into the room to find a massive crack in the sink, toilet roll holder off the wall, and the shower dribbled water out,...

I often stop off here after work for a few drinks. There is always a wide selection of Draught Beers, with some unusual choices amongst them. Also a great selection of Gins. We also ate here about 3 weeks ago, the steaks come highly recommended. All in all a very nice place to visit particularly in the summer months when...

Quite disappointed because this place used to be the bench mark for food and service in the local area. We asked at the bar if we could eat and was offered a table in the bar area. Got our drinks and sat at a table that hadn't been cleaned. We then waited 10 minutes for a menu but then had...

We had a late(rooms) booking, so excellent value. Room 10 in Cherry Cottage - looked newly refurbished. Hotel is by the river and a 12thC church. Fantastic seating on lawn outside and by river. Beautiful! Small details let it down a bit - I nearly fell down some stairs because of a loose carpet, poor shower pressure, curtain tie hook...

Stayed at the Mytton and Mermaid for 2 nights, fantastic location right on the Severn, easy access with car to Shrewsbury, and also a small drive to Ironbridge. Hotel is superb, the restaurant serves really nice food and the bar has a good selection of drinks. Special mention goes out to Stephen who was very diligent and went out of...
