In regards to the road from town. From town means from Taos. It is a state highway until you begin the two miles to the Bavarian from the ski valley parking lot. From there it is a well maintained gravel road. Whatever kind of car you drive will have no problem driving to the Bavarian. In winter it is strictly a 4 wheel drive road, as the sign states. There are no pot holes.
