Small family owned and operated hotel. Very scenic surroundings, lake, forest and hills. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Very quaint and calm. Good restaurant serving local food from fresh ingridients. Staff very pleasant.

This hotel is not luxury but offers good basic holiday accommodation in a friendly atmosphere. Our room was very clean with good bed linen. Our bathroom/shower/toilet was cramped and not suitable for over sized people. The meals we had were reasonably priced and the breakfast at a supplement of 10 Euros was ample and excellent affording a good start to...

Our second visit, after several years. This is one of our favourite areas in the Auvergne, but not one over-endowed with fine hotels. Le Grillon was undoubtedly good value, quiet, comfortable and with a fine restaurant. Do not expect anything too sophisticated (no aircon), but on its own terms it is admirable, even if the furnishings are probably due for...

I booked a ground floor room with easy access. On arrival they have no ground floor rooms! We struggled upstairs to find bath not shower as expected. Down again and up another stair to find room with good shower cabinet. We both have mobility problems so this was exhausting. Our friends travelling with us unloaded our luggage. Then at dinner...

We only stayed one night on the way somewhere else which is a shame as it was lovely. I slept very well. It is very old fashioned but I liked that. The rooms are in a time warp as is the front of the building, it's great. The sheets were soft old cotton and so smooth. Lovely food. They served...

Seven days at half-board, with lovely meals and a good atmosphere. The quality of the meats, in particular, was excellent, and a lot of thought had been put into the menus. The situation is good, with pleasant walks around the lake, and it is a good centre for touring the area.

We booked this hotel for a stopover en route south. We booked a double room which cost €65 with breakfast, through the Logis de France site. The room was large, clean and with a good comfortable bed and clean linen. It was quiet, with a large window and overlooked a garden. The bathroom had a good shower, with the wc...

A pleasant hotel about 100 metres from the lake and beach. We stayed half board with an excellent and filling four course meal, including a very good cheese board, and a large and varied breakfast buffet. Recommend the local wine which was avaiilable in 500ml bottles which suits us. The half board menu is fixed but posted before dinner so...
