So glad that we had booked only one night in this hotel during our 6 week tour of Myanmar. We stayed here at the end of November and the evening was definitely chilly. The bedroom was tastefully decorated but so cold. We asked for the fire to be lit ( which the hotel did) and hot water bottles were put...

Stayed for 1 night as part of a tour in Myanmar. Very characterful hotel & location. Was quite cool after the heat of Mandalay & Bagan. Our room (on the first floor) was spacious and well appointed. We had a fire lit after dinner to take the edge off the temperature. The restaurant was ok, but felt a bit "off...

I love everything about Amara Mountain Resort. I feel so home there. We stayed there about a week during December 2014. Such a beautiful hotel with nice garden. Even though it is located on the hill, it doesn't have special view. Clean rooms and hotel staffs are very friendly. My husband is a vegetarian and the chef made special vegetarians...

The garden and the rooms are very nice, looks more like England than Myanmar. Unfortunately I was there on a rainy day and could not enjoy the outside area. The food is ok. The bathroom was awesome, with stone bathtub, perfect after a day on a bus.

This was such a nice break from the heat and humidity we had experienced after 9 days in Myanmar. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The grounds are well manicured with gardens and the food in the restaurant was quite good.Service was excellent! Special thanks to the guys who cleaned the mud off my husbands shoes!

We stayed two nights. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are so friendly and attentive. We ate dinner in the restaurant and met the executive chef Zaw Myo Htet who cooked us a wonderful vegetable dish from fresh vegetables grown in their own "kitchen" garden. Pleasantly surprised by the food which was excellent from a chef who has worked...

Located on the hill (without a view though) the hotel has very good garden and well appointed (for a 3 star hotel) clean and spacious rooms. Surprisingly (for Myanmar) internet works most of the time. Customer service is outstanding. Two small drawbacks: 1. Lack of shower curtain makes it impossible to take a normal shower - very surprising for the...

Really enjoyed the old hill station vibe of this place. We were in the newer building but they did an excellent job at making it as beautiful as the original 1920's building. Beautiful luxury hotel in Kalaw. High ceilings, fireplaces in the bedrooms, enormous bathrooms. A massive storm knocked out power the night we stayed and the fact that there was not a backup generator was a little disappointing. Staff was great and breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
