Have just returned home after an amazing couple of days at the Glenesk ...our first visit but certainly not our last! The warmth of our greeting at reception was reciprocated throughout the hotel & it would be therefore difficult to single out any one member of staff. They were all so professional, attentive & friendly & went out of their way...

Stayed at the Glenesk again, this time on the Valentines package (because last years was so good) - overnight stay with a 'special' menu. As always, staff delightful, knowledgable and extremely helpful Hotel is traditional Scottish, with all the positives that that brings Room was clean, spacey and bathroom more than adequate. Checked in by very pleasant front desk staff...

Party of 10 adults and 5 children for our Dad's birthday meal in the Chandelier room. What a fantastic evening, delicious, reasonably priced food, staff were very attentive and thoughtful- especially Kim and the manager, Martin. These people went out of their way to make this a special evening with memories to treasure. Highly recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff in comfortable hotel. Food was very good and probably the best breakfast I have ever had. Room was comfortable but not luxurious. Lounge areas were welcoming although the lighting could certainly be improved. Bar was impressive with a vast range of choice but lacked atmosphere. Having negotiated a reduced room rate, it was upsetting to hear the receptionist...

We only booked this hotel as we had to be up this way the previous night with an early check out, What a place, the food is gorgeous and the service is impeccable but not intimidating, This hotel is a diamond in the rough as the service and helpfulness is simply lost in many hotel chains and it's easy to...

This is a fantastic hotel, warm friendly staff, log fires, a range of whisky to delight and satisfy all tastes, and the food is great. We had afternoon tea at this fine hotel. The food, service and surroundings were excellent. The service was friendly, attentive but never intrusive. The afternoon tea was served on traditional cake stands and there was plenty of it. Tea and coffee were refilled free as needed. The quality of the food superb and there was a pleasing variety, from sandwiches,...

Just returned from a great night at this hotel. The hotel is traditional - when we arrived at reception we could see sitting areas with lit open fires. Exactly what was needed on a cold, miserable night. Our room was huge!! Room 24 - "old worldy", massive sleigh bed, living area with fireplace (electric coal effect) and a modern bathroom....
