Detailed Reviews
Our family group of four adults stayed two nights in The Stables Cottage. The cottage was accurately described on the website and very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped for home cooking, and electric blankets on the beds were welcome for one chilly night. We pre-ordered a Drinks and Nibbles platter which was more than ample, along with the bottle of bubbly included in our rate. Breakfast provisions were very satisfactory - bread, bacon, eggs, yoghurt, juice, milk and fruit. The cottage has a lovely front verandah overlooking a delightful quiet garden. The only minor drawback was bathroom plumbing was noisy in the front bedroom. Despite this, I would recommend The Stables at Clarendon Cottages.

Camellia cottage is tucked away at the end of a path, very private. The cottage is spacious with the bedroom, easy chairs and bathroom on the upper level and kitchen and table on the lower floor. An outdoor verandah with table and chairs is off this area, perfect for enjoying an afternoon cup of tea or a glass of bubbly.
We arranged for a savoury platter and sparkling wine for our first evening, a very generous platter was awaiting us.
Thankyou for the suggested walk to Alfred Nicholas Garden, we really enjoyed the walk and gardens.

Stayed for only one night with my partner, wish it was more. We stayed in the Camellia Cottage, which has a queen bed, and separate kitchen/dining area. The cottages are excellent, with many extras, such as fruit, nuts, good selection of tea, pod coffee as well as seed to feed to birds included. A self cook breakfast is included and had bacon, eggs, cereal, milk, juice, bread (in other words plenty). The kitchen was really well stocked with cutlery and plates etc. The grounds are beautiful with huge trees surrounding the property.
There are nearby walks to do and shops and restaurants within nearby driving distance. There is an fire pit is you want to sit outside at night and enjoy the fresh air.
This accommodation is quality and excellent. Highly recommended.

Came to get away for some peace and tranquility. This venue delivered just that. Stunningly presented, immaculately clean, beautiful touches in the form of fresh flowers and mixed teas and biscuits, even a personalised acknowledgment of a special occasion. Utterly thoughtful hosting, most certainly a reflection of the owners who have considered everything. Don’t think twice booking this venue.

The cottage was very well equipped and as we had a five night stay, it was greatly appreciated that there were laundry facilities. The area of Sassafras is delightful and the cottage was a great space from which to explore the other surrounding towns. Loved the company of cockatoos, rosellas and parrots. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

We stayed in Camelia cottage for the two nights after our wedding, and are so glad we choose this lovely accommodation. Chris and Gayle were easy to deal with, happy to move our booking to a new date when our wedding got postponed, and even wrote welcome newlyweds on the mirror in the room! There were so many little touches in the cottage to make it comfortable and the breakfast provisions were plentiful and allowed us to cook ourselves a delicious breakfast each morning. There are lovely views and lots of birds to look at and listen too (the rooster waking us up early wasn’t quite so enjoyable though!). We loved the gas fire, and the spa bath, and enjoyed exploring the Dandenongs from this central location. We would highly recommend this lovely cottage and hope to come back sometime soon.

Beautiful quaint cottage in lovely gardens. All the comforts of home with a cosy fireplace ( electric ) , electric blankets , lovely en-suite and lots of snacks like marshmallows, chocolate etc.
Birds came to feed outside the huge window in the morning. Just a shame there is no kitchen sink downstairs only en-suite for water ( upstairs) Just bring a small bag as not a lot of room for large suitcases

Thanks for your review. Nice to know you found it homely and well supplied. Watching the birds feed is a treat isn't it? We agree the cosy Dovecote Cottage is small but that's just part of it's charm! Hope you'll return. Cheers, Chris and Gayle

We stayed in "The Stables" at Clarendon Cottages - it was the most delightful cottage we have ever stayed in! The furnishings were lovely, beds were very comfortable and everything was provided that you could ever want. We loved all the special touches like chocolates and Port, shortbread biscuits, a generous & hearty supply of breakfast goodies plus birdseed to feed the birds! There was nothing more lovely than to sit by the fire looking out at the garden and after putting the seed in the bird feeder, watching an array of beautiful rosella parrots come to feed! It was a wonderful stay that we will always remember. Thank you!

We loved our stay in the Camelia Cottage. It was so clean, warm and comfortable. Jane and George have thought of everything! The fire was on when we arrived, the fridge and pantry had plenty of provisions for a filling, delicious breakfast and there were lots of other little thoughtful touches. The garden is beautiful and while there are three cottages, it feels private and tranquil. Walking distance from Sassafras, the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens and the amazing Proserpina Bakehouse. We would have loved to stay longer! Highly recommend.
