Our cottage was so comfortable, clean and super stocked with treats. We especially loved the bird seed to feed the pretty birds. It’s a short walk to a bakery and a short drive to pubs/restaurants. The fresh bead left in the cottage was so delicious 🤤 we would definitely stay here again

Thanks for your review Jules and we're glad you enjoyed your stay in the Dovecote Cottage here at Clarendon. The birds are pretty special, so we're glad that you were able to put out the bird seed for them so that you could enjoy watching their antics (and I'm sure that they appreciated it too!). We hope to see you again. Regards, George and Jane

Camellia cottage is tucked away at the end of a path, very private. The cottage is spacious with the bedroom, easy chairs and bathroom on the upper level and kitchen and table on the lower floor. An outdoor verandah with table and chairs is off this area, perfect for enjoying an afternoon cup of tea or a glass of bubbly. We arranged for a savoury platter and sparkling wine for our first evening, a very generous platter was awaiting us. Thankyou for the suggested walk to Alfred Nicholas Garden, we really enjoyed the walk and gardens.

My husband and I stayed at Clarendon Cottages for a weekend in late November, and I can honestly say it was a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Camelia Cottage and absolutely loved it. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the interior design of the cottage to make it a cozy, welcoming place. And just the attention to detail to make your stay that little bit better was very welcome! Everything from an umbrella bucket (with an umbrella) by the door (It rained a lot during our stay), to a well stocked fruit bowl. Blankets for the arm chairs, a very comfy bed and bedding, excellent breakfast options. We could not fault the place and will definitely consider returning in the future.

Dovecote cottage was perfect for our short stay, allowing us to enjoy the area and only a short drive to view the sunset over the city... amazing. We were very well cared for, and our host was particularly helpful. We especially appreciated the little "extras" in our room, Whilst the room was small, it provided us with all that we could want. it was very cosy and had much character, we thorough enjoyed our little retreat, and would highly recommend to anyone seeking time out from the busy ness of life.

We loved our stay in the Camelia Cottage. It was so clean, warm and comfortable. Jane and George have thought of everything! The fire was on when we arrived, the fridge and pantry had plenty of provisions for a filling, delicious breakfast and there were lots of other little thoughtful touches. The garden is beautiful and while there are three cottages, it feels private and tranquil. Walking distance from Sassafras, the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens and the amazing Proserpina Bakehouse. We would have loved to stay longer! Highly recommend.

The cottage was very well equipped and as we had a five night stay, it was greatly appreciated that there were laundry facilities. The area of Sassafras is delightful and the cottage was a great space from which to explore the other surrounding towns. Loved the company of cockatoos, rosellas and parrots. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

We loved our cottage in Sassafras. It was quiet, in easy 15 minute walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The kitchen was the best stocked we have come across- eggs, baked beans, fresh fruit etc. We felt relaxed whilst sitting in the kitchen looking at the trees and a variety of birds. Owners George and Jane were friendly and helpul. A great weekend at the start of winter.

This cottage was excellent and had everything we needed. Full kitchen, laundry around the corner, comfy beds, good coffee. There was a lot of food for breakfast (way more than we needed) and some lovely bubbly in the fridge. My daughter especially loved feeding the birds and watching the cockatoos and parakeets in the morning. Great location for all Yarra Valley and Dandenong activities. We enjoyed dinner at King Henry restaurant down the street.
