Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was fooled by some positive reviews on this property. The rooms are more motel-like, very close to the road and close together. The walls are thin enough to hear your neighbours conversations (and snoring). There was only one receptionist who had enough English to help organize transfers and tours. I appreciated her help as the property is just too far out of town to be able to organize through someone else. However, both the transfer and tour they organized for me were with unreliable/bad drivers. The saving element is the view of the Mekong. Mesmerizing.

As we arrived, we were pretty sure that they had no clue that we were coming. No way of communicating as they did not speak 1 word english.
We got a room, which was okey. Bathroom: well, it existed...
The worst part was, that there was no mosquito net, as the hotel is located right next to the mekong, obviously there were alot of mosquitos... After we returned to the Hotel in the evening our room was not made up, which I expect in this pricerange in Laos.
The hotel is at a beautiful location and the sourroundings would be nice if they would take better care of it.
In our room was a new, well functioning airconditioner so a plus there.
As we were planning to leave early in the morning, we wanted to pay 2 water bottles we consumed. This took about 15 minutes, as again no one spoke a single english word. They tried to charge me for the room again and so on...
All in all, we paid 57 Dollars for 2 nights, endless mosquito bites and no service what so ever

This hotel provides a garden with a great view over Mekong river. The stuff is helpful but hardly speaks and understands English. We stayed in a standard room which was clean and had typical furniture.

We liked this idilic little hotel so much we stayed an extra night. Situated on the Mekong with excellent views and newly renovated rooms, this boutique hotel resides in its own lovely gardens. The owner lives at the hotel and nothing is to big a request from arranging tours to booking transport. There is a nice outdoor restaurant which easily accommodated our vegan requests. A bargain for the price!

Best hotel in Champasak. Enjoy a fresh mango smoothy at the riverside to see the sunrise in the morning. Rooms are spacious and clean. They serve good food. But most of all: the staff is really helpful. Good place to relax and to visit the island and vat phou.

We stayed here 1 night to visit Wat Phou and could easily have stayed longer it was so restful. The hotel arranged our visit to Wat Phou and 9 onward travel to 4 thousand islands and were very helpful.
We ate all meals in the restaurant and the food was good and reasonably priced. Staff were smiling and attentive.
The room was basic but very clean and excellent value at 15usd- it was one of their older rooms.
The best thing about the hotel is the seating areas overlooking the Mekong! Perfect for sitting and reading or just chilling with a beer. There is a little "beach" on the river bank which was very quaint
Highly recommended

Champasak itself is a funny straggle of a village. The View is a delightful & incredibly well priced hotel , with an amazing view across the Mekong. They have little shaded wooden areas along the riverbank where you can eat or drink or just read. The hotel was taken over 10 months ago by a charming Thai couple, who have lots of good plans for the place. They are beautifying it bit by bit. We had a great room ( almost like a bungalow) with its own little sit out. Big rooms. Big comfortable beds & stylish bathrooms. Incredible low price for what you get ... great value. The food was good. The staff were nice & helpful. They have bikes & scooters & can organise car & driver & they got us a boat to visit the island across the river.
The hotel is well situated to explore the village, nearby wats etc.
A good place to stay
