We arrived around 9pm and the manager was there to check us in. Our plan was to wake up early the next day to start the Nakasendo Trail from Magome. The building itself was pretty and there was an area to relax in before we went to bed. The facilities were very clean and the dorms were spacious. There was a free breakfast included (eggs and toast) and the manager was very helpful with excellent English. 5-10 minutes walk to Magome to start the walk so conveniently located. From memory our taxi from Nakatsugawa train station cost around 1500 Yen.

We arrived at this hostel like accomodation at the end of a days walking to be met by friendly staff (with the offer of a ride to a local onsen and dinner), and clean comfortable and interesting lodging. This was a school and has been beautifully converted to accomodation. Breakfast provided to. We loved our stay here.

As European we are used to the European hostels. This very different: clean , well organized , people are respectful of the rules and staff is professional and friendly. Very nice place where to stay and enjoy the chance to meet people from different counties.
