This hostel was only 400m from all the biking trails which was awesome! We stored our bikes in the storage locker and then rode straight to the trails every day. There is also a hose and bike rack outside to wash your bikes. The hostel staff were very friendly and chatty and gave us great tip on where to eat,...

The common area is awesome. Had a great few days here hanging out with the long term residents. Great mountain bike rental shop right downstairs and a super cool clothing shop across the street The wifi was solid too which I found to be rare across the rest of the country! Only downside was that I had a room right...

Had a great experience at this hostel! The staff are friendly, the rooms and common areas are tidy and there is plenty of awesome stuff to do in cumberland! I would highly recommend the fool as your accommdation in the comox valley, especially if your looking for a smaller town vibe!

Considering this place has a star from the 2014 Lonely Planet, this place is a mess. I've been to many hostels with worse reviews that deserve that star a lot more. To be fair, I'll list the good and bad. Good: - Very nice and helpful staff - Pool table - Close to nice pub - Security Bad: - Kitchen...

I loved my time here. The hostel has a great atmosphere and a certain charm. It is a great place for mountain bikers. Although I didn't have kids with my I think it would be a fine environment for families too.

This place is amazing. Lovely old historic building but beautifully renovated inside. The bathrooms were spotless. The kitchen was huge and incredibly well equipped (e.g. there were 4 ways to make coffee alone: a coffee maker, stovetop espresso makers, french press and pour over), a huge common room. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the people I met there...

We stayed at the hostel for three nights. It is clean, the staff is very friendly, the rooms are nicely appointed, our room was quiet, the beds are comfortable, it has a full kitchen, and it has excellent wi-fi coverage. We enjoyed meeting other mountain bikers who were staying there. The owner is a very friendly and actively supports the...

I've stayed here twice now and I've enjoyed both stays. It's quaint, comfortable, clean. The heritage building is absolutely gorgeous and the set up is great. Rooms are well decorated, beds are comfortable. Awesome shared shelves in the kitchen and amenities like a pool table. Local bus goes back & forth between Cumberland and Courtenay so it's easily accessible. Great...

I was here in July 2013 and was definitely one of the best hostels I stayed in during my one month trip though western Canada. Very welcoming hosts (!!), clean and I loved the interior design! Cozy, homely and comfortable. I would definitely recommend visiting once you are looking for a quiet , nice place to stay. Also if you're...

This place had great staff, was very clean, and the little town was a great base for enjoying the outdoors. The kitchen was well equipped and the common room was one of the best we have ever seen. The cozy feeling here made us wish we could stay longer. Would highly recommend.
