I like this little hotel. It isn't showy, or boutique, but it's done very well. The location is remote (although you can travel to see turtles, birds and stupas) and the view spectacular,; the rooms enormous, clean, stylish with fantastic views over the Ocean and the showers spacious. Wifi and hot water intermittent, and non-existent in our rooms (wifi strong...

We recently stayed at Turtle Bay on our trip to Sri this month (September 2014) although the hotel was clean and tidy and well maintained (with a beautiful pool and gardens) I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless you are wanting to be very isolated. The hotel was far from Tangalle and also down a track from the...

Turtle Bay at Kalamatiya in the deep south of Sri Lanka is truly a hidden gem. This small, affordable, luxury boutique hotel is well suited to the traveler who is ecologically conscious while also requiring comfort and tranquility . There is a significant emphasis on the tasteful use of local natural materials throughout. Our family of three stayed there for...

WHAT I LIKE: Attention paid at cleaning my suite, generous sounds of the ocean day & night, grand views from & around the hotel, nearly "private beach" save for a few dogs, gorgeous poolside dinner, great Sri Lankan food, the 1.5 hour lagoon boating & bird watching trip in the morning is a "must" to go on, bumpy tuk tuk...

Turtle Bay is a little boutique hotel perfect for couples. It is quiet and peaceful and with very good food. We had so much see food here then anywhere else in Sri Lanka. And it was the best quality too. There is only 7 rooms in Turtle Bay, because there is 7 species of sea turtles in the world and...

Turtle Bay is a stunning little hotel on a breathtaking stretch of open uninterrupted beach! What a magnificent place and location! The hotel is extremely quaint and charming, with great attention to detail in the decor, the rooms very spacious, the beds are huge and super comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and convenient although there wasn't always hot water, but that...

You have a very smartly designed building--by a student, I was told, of the famous architect in Sri Lanka, Geoffrey Bawa. His student did a great job--lots of dark wood interiors, very large spacious guest rooms, bathroom with stone interiors and modern fixtures. Intimate--yes, with only seven guest rooms, but the layout makes it feel like a real resort. Even...

The Turtle Beach is not easy to find but well worth it in the end. The view of the beach is magnificent. It is the perfect place to relax after a busy round trip of Sri Lanka. The food was perfect, especially the fresh fish. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend the Turtle Beach as part...

I have been meaning to write this review since my boyfriend and I returned from Sri Lanka, and it is the first and only review I have felt I really need to write because Turtle Bay went above and beyond to ensure that we had a magical anniversary in their beautiful hotel. Turtle Bay is tucked away on a quiet,...

We recently spent 5 nights at Turtle bay in mid-July. In brief we really liked this place, the rooms (we were on the second floor) were spacious and clean, well laid out with beautiful wooden floors and a huge bed (each room also has its own wifi router ). The view from our room (“Flatback”- each room is named after...
