Standard rooms at front of hotel along way from pool or anything else in new building the old charming part of hotel at back withe large rooms and suites up to 160$ i ended up getting a room for 110$ big kingsize bed etc but exp for indonesia and getting old and worn old fridge with nothing in it... ordered tostadas from rs menues terrible snd couldnt eat it didnt resemble any tostadas ive eaten anywhere else in the world i dont know who dreamed up the recipe. The fish and chips passable but in all honesty whilst in central jave stick with nasi goreng as they dont know how to cook anything western properly pool is nice and clean i think this hotel concentrates on functions for its bread and butter.

Laras Asri Hotel Salatiga provided a delightful stay with its picturesque surroundings and warm hospitality. The charming ambiance and well-appointed rooms made for a comfortable retreat. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness stood out, ensuring a pleasant experience, including a lovely garden and a relaxing pool, added to the overall appeal. The hotel's strategic location allowed easy access to Salatiga's attractions. While the dining options were satisfactory, they could benefit from a bit more variety. Overall, Laras Asri Hotel Salatiga is a solid choice for those seeking a peaceful and welcoming stay in this quaint town.

We booked a standard room with double bed, and added an extra bed. The main double bed was given with two single bed sheets, and a blanket for a single bed. We found this very late night we we were about to sleep.

Bathroom was filthy, with mold on the floor and bidet. Shower stand was almost fallen off. Shower was full of calcification.

Refrigerator was not cold.

During breakfast, when we left out plates on the table to refill our tea, the staff cleared out all the plates. When we asked, he just said "Oh don't worry just take another plate".

Spoke with Mr. Mia, Manager on Duty on 26 Jun, on our way for checkout, no compensation can be given.

Dear Mr. Ranan, Warm Greeting from Laras Asri Resort & Spa “resort in the city” Salatiga. Thank you for your trust to stay with us while in Salatiga also for your review. For all customer satisfaction and also comfort, we will continue to strive to provide the best service and also improve the quality of our service. First we'd like to apologize for the inconvenience during your stay. Hopefully everything is fine at the moment. Regarding to your prior reservation at Standard Room, we'd like to inform that all our Standard Rooms come with twin bed (double bed is available at Superior, Deluxe, Executive, and Suite). However, when requested for Standard Rooms, we would join the bed and replace the bed sheet with king size sheet. Let us assure you that it can be done soon after your early check in if we were requested, as we had already handed the keycard at 12.15 in the afternoon daytime. In addition to the room, should you find any inconvenience, we would like to hear it as soon as possible so that we could replace everything necessary to assure your convenient stay. We're glad that at the end you spoke to our MOD Mr. Mia on Sunday morning after check out, but we're sorry that we could not give compensation for the room charge, as it was settled the midnight before, and again, we're sorry that the complementary compensation Mr. Mia offered did not meet your satisfaction. Hopefully we will be able to do it in the future. Once again we would like to say thank you very much in deep and we are waiting for your next visit. Thank you for your input, stay healthy. I booked this hotel when visiting my relatives. We usually stayed at another hotel but decided to stayed here instead because of the villa type instead of a hotel. The loby looked nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you book through agoda, you should prepare the card/cash that you use because they don't charge the card until you come in. The good thing is they can charge in usd instead of Rp, so our stay was "cheaper" than what agoda quoted us. The villa looked nice but it was really dark going in that if you arrive at night you should call their shuttle to take you to the room. They also have a daily shuttle of Rp 25 thousands one way to anywhere in the city area. I think this is the foreign tourist rate, if you are Indonesian citizen, it might be cheaper. The bed was comfy but I agree that this place needs maintenance. The bathroom was supposed to be indoor/outdoor type. But, they didn't take care of the outdoor side that ants, roaches, and insects crawl freely on the counter and the toilet. I even found a milipede on my pillow. The next morning I asked for the staff to spray the room, however the creepy crawlers return at night.
Now, about the other kinds of creepy crawler in this hotel. We arrived at around 8 pm and slept shortly after. Then, at around 11 pm, I felt as if someone punch me straight in the stomach. It was hurting like hell that I went straight to the toilet to puke. When I was puking my guts out, all the sudden the lights in our villa were out. Yes, of course I screamed, woke my husband up. We called the front desk and asked what was going on. The receptionist asked if we can just re-insert the card to turn the lights back on. Well, no one had been playing with the cards and even after we tried, the lights are still out. The staff came in 30 minutes. Before they came in, the wardrobe light turned back on without anyone doing anything.
When I met my relatives and shared my story, they weren't even surprised. Scared but not surprised. PS: my relatives had lived in Salatiga for three generations. They said that Laras Asri was known to be haunted by the locals especially the villa, the little pond/pool on the center and the spa. Rumor has it that they use Javanese antiques and re-build the villa from old Javanese houses that back in the old days are associated with Javanese ritual and spirits.
I think it is best to not believe it so you won't experienced anything weird. But, if you are into that kind of thrill, you might want to stay here and see if you experienced weirder things.

We booked several rooms as guests of a wedding. However, this is my personal account based on the executive bungalow suite facing pool that i took for 4 days. The property has local charm, and the landscape design has some potential if maintained. However, the room cleanliness, the overall quality of the property is atrocious, beyond sub par for the low to mid 100usd per nite you pay during the season holidays. Me and my husband have travelled to, collectively, over 300 cities in the world, including some remote places like Satun in Thailand, and Boracay in Philippines. By the same token, we have and are frequent patrons of high end hotels such as the Four Seasons in Mexico City, The Marriott in Austria, the Marriott in Singapore, Park Hyatt sydney on the rocks just as we are of mid range business category hotels such as AC Sants Madrid, to numerous chains in the USA ( hamptons, garden inn, fairfield, done it all). In over 300 stays ( by modest count), in all categories of hotels, all over the world, we have to say this property wouldn't deserve a 1 out of 10 had it not been for its staff. I moved to a second room, but the same problem persist; bugs in your towel, centipede in the bathrooms, knats in your bed, flies and crawlies in your toilet. Flies feasting the buffet breakfast spread and staff seemingly oblivious to the need for basic hygiene. Needless to say, cleanliness appears to be a foreign notion in this part of the world, as was at Susan Spa in Semarang. None of the air condition worked. The a/c after repair, spewed out contaminated air molecules so bad i developed a throat infection and developed an allergic rash i never had since the rare days of bunking with friends in backpackers motels 2 decades ago.

The property's saving grace is the wonderful front desk staff, tintin, umumami, and duty manager, Asrif amingst other countless faces i am sad to not recall all their names, who have gone above and beyond, always with a smile. But without proper training, and management support, it appears even the best staff intentions can lead you astray as they are ill- informed or knowledgeable about basic services like dry cleaning. There was tremendous amount of confusion that led to unnecessary frustration when there was a desperate need for dry cleaning service, i was led on a wild goose chase, all that came to nothing, i wish and praise all their staff's graciousness, their ever sparkling smile, their amazingly positive attitudes, and incredible efforts to please their guests despite the various limitations. Wifi in lobby was excellent by most standards, even if somewhat slow, it always works. We r grateful for that. The communal areas are nothing to shout about; be forewarned ventilation is poor everywhere and a/c malfunctions in the coffee lounge just as badly as it does in the rooms. Service for drinks and snack foods can be very sloooow. We order simple hot tea for 10 and coffe for 6 and it took seriously close to an hour to get all the orders served correctly and we were the only people there. This happened in the coffee lounge. We had better experience in the japanese restaurant but same problem; it took forever to get a mango juice served for a party of 16 who mostly drank hot tea, and a handful of juices. Pisang goreng was the best in town; and we tried at least 10 places within a 25 to 30 mile radius but totally overpriced. The property and its food services was entirely overpriced by international standards.

Yup, I've give it up for the nice and big pool, pool area also very relaxing to hang out while waiting my kids swim. Since I've book on standard room, they put me on new building which more like apt building. Room is ok, but the bath room too small.

This is a beautiful resort that is badly neglected. After Checkin I found there was no drinking water or towels in the room . The toilet ran continuously wasting water day and night. The wifi was almost non existent and u couldn't even log in although at first a free trial worked well.
Breakfast is meant to be served until 10 but don't go after 9 because food and also bread for toast was run out. On asking for more bread some was brought out 15-20 minutes later and had to wait for the one staff to cook sons omelette . There were any staff in room out the back but they don't come out.
The shower was quite dirty with mould around the soap holder .
The pool is fabulous and you feel ile you're in a jungle oasis with the jungle behind the Pool- beautiful.
It's sad that the hotel has been so neglected and the management needs to step up to the mark and check each room for faults and cleanliness one by one

Our stay was very relaxing and the staff will go the extra mile for you (our driver drove us to the bus station and waited to ensure we got on the right bus to Solo). Food is exceptional, rooms are great. It is rare that smaller towns have hotels with rooms like this (and at this price), extremely good option if near Salatiga.
