We stayed here for one night whilst travelling west. The Inn is a real old style Inn which is what we were looking for. The bar staff were very friendly. Our room was good and the bed comfortable. We had dinner at the Inn and it was nice. We didn't have the breakfast in the morning as we weren't after...

Up a short steep flight of stairs was a surprisingly roomy twin room, very clean and also with a large bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable. We had a good dinner in the small restaurant as well as breakfast. Doune is a lovely small village.

we called here on spec on Sunday, they were due to start serving at 1pm and we arrived at 12.50, we hadn't booked but a table wasn't a problem as there was no one else at all around, never a good sign? I ordered the steak and ale pie and my husband had the belly pork Sunday roast. Both meals...

The menu was interesting and our starters were delivered very quickly and very tasty. The main choices were also delicious. The in also has a guest...

Great value for money; excellent food; accommodation clean and comfortable; top quality staff. This is an old inn with a new heart and a genuine community feel. My stay involved exceptional circumstances and the staff went above and beyond. I can't thank them enough.

Recently stopped overnight for a night at The Red Lion Inn. Parking on site, which is great and a very easy check in. The locals in the bar were all very friendly and we ate in the bar area (due to having our dog with us) and enjoyed a lovely meal of fish and chips. The room was nice for...

Loved this inn and restaurant! We ate dinner and breakfast here and the food was excellent! Fresh ingredients and well cooked pub meals. Breakfast was delicious. The owners were delightful, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant. Parking right next door and super close to the castle and about minutes from Stirling.

We booked for one night last minute, and got lucky with this one. Nothing seemed too much trouble - my wife had to head off in the morning before they were due to start serving breakfast, and they offered to get up and provide it. The refurbishment of their little restaurant was still in progress, and we had dinner in...
