We stayed at Le Clos Castel on our way down to La Rochelle, staying two nights on both the outward and return journeys. What a lovely place to stay - the rooms were large and very comfortable with comfy beds and soft towels provided in the en-suite. Our hosts, Hazel & Steve were a delight, not intrusive but always there...

We have stayed with Hazel and Steve on many occasions in recent years and cannot speak highly enough of them. On our most recent brief visit we had a car breakdown on the way to our return ferry. Hazel was brilliant, despite being very busy our dilemma became her number one priority. Thanks to Hazel we made it on time....

We initially booked for an overnight stay on the attached campsite but decided due to a change in circumstances that the location was perfect for visiting the many attractions around Normandy so increased our stay to seven nights. The site is well maintained and the toilet and shower facility is perfect. The amount of hot water meant that there was...

I can only echo and amplify all of the others positive words. Hazel and Steve turned our three day trip to the D-Day beaches and Mont St Michel into the most pleasant three days we had on our road trip. Arriving after an 8 hour drive, we had booked dinner there. Hazel prepared a three course dinner with wine that...

The rooms are well presented and comfortable. Hazel and Steve have a very good, detailed knowledge of the local area and its history. We had a wonderful...

We booked this hotel based on location and reviews and were NOT disappointed. Hazel and Steve are delightful Brits who bought and refurbished an old country manor and we just loved it!!! The rooms are fairly spacious and clean, retrofitted with their own bathrooms. Hazel is an excellent chef and we LOVED our dinner there, which was 16.50 euros and...

Easy to find. Very clean and the proprietors are originally British and very helpful and full of interesting stories about the area. Only disappointment was their breakfast which was sparse as only a few rolls and butter and jelly were served with coffee. Sure could have used a sausage or an egg or some cheese. Not an English breakfast, not...

We will always stay here while in the area as it is a great place to stay. Excellent large rooms, clean and perfect bathrooms, comfortable beds and great breakfasts. You are close to the towns of Carentan and Periers but just enough outside to be able to sleep well with no noise or lights, a beautiful rural setting. Hazel and...

We stopped off on our way from Calais to Brittany after spending a day at the Normandy D Day landing beaches. The hosts were most helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and the bathroom was immaculate. Bedding and towels smelt lovely. Really impressed and such good value. A great start to our French holiday. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“The whole place had class and while I only saw the two rooms both had class.I am sure other rooms would no disappoint. There was a road to the front but the large garden and quietish area means you would only get a small amount of traffic noise if you were to the front with the window open.”
