    The room was clean, the bed was comfy, the water was hot, and the price was cheap. With 1-2 inches of rain forecast for the night we decided to not pitch our already wet tent and found the only roomavaible between the Soo and Wawa. The owner was very friendly.

    When we drove up to the property my heart sank, and if we hadn't already given our credit card info over the phone we would have continued on. From the outside the property looked completely uncared for. The room we were given was nothing like the reviews I had read on Tripadvisor.     This is an old row-style model on the outside, but was clearly recently renovated on the inside. The room was freshly painted, with hardwood floors, knotty pine wainscoting, and brand new desk, entertainment center with cable TV, table and chairs.     The Sawpit Bay Motel recently re-opened under new ownership. They have taken what was an old and tired road-side motel, and brought it up to modern, mid-class standards.
