There is no doubt about it the hotel is in a wonderful location looking over the beautiful scenery of Yorkshire at the top of a very big hill. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Our room was spacious and the facilities in the room good. The bed was wonderful! We had dinner...

My husband booked a table for my 60th birthday with my family, the chef serving the carvery was very freindley We were disappointed with the service we received which was very slow, and unfreindley. This was not the first time we have eaten at the hobbit, and have always had better service.

We were attending an event in Hebden Bridge about a 15 minute drive away, but couldn't find a suitable hotel there. The hotel was a little out of Sowerby Bridge up a very steep bank but parking was plentiful and the room very comfortable, especially the huge king size bed. We paid £65 which included a pair of fine breakfasts...

We have just returned from a night at the New Hobbit and have to say it was a real pleasure! A cosy, intimate inn with great value rooms that are done up in a "shabby chic" fashion...comfy beds and great decor. Breakfast which is included in the room rate is also plentiful and tasty - thoroughly enjoyed. We also chose...

We booked a table in the bar because we had our dog. Service was good, provided by efficient and professional staff. We had a choice of 6 starters, and for the main course there were 3 meats on the carvery (Beef, Lamb & roast Ham), with 2 Fish options and 2 Vegetarian as well. Plenty of choice with the vegetables....

We chose this hotel for the location as friends and family we coming from different directions. The rooms were good and the food was great. The experience was first class. Our age range was from 85 to 18 months and not one complaint from any one on our group of 30. I would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.

I took three very picky ladies to the Hobbit for a birthday meal. We arrived late because my daughters sat nav decided to take us ten miles in the wrong direction, after a call to the Hobbit they kindly put on the right road. When we arrived, nearly an hour late, there was no pressure, which was very kind. We...

I really enjoyed the times I stayed at this hotel, and the food in the restaurant is great! The staff couldn't be friendlier, and all in all my stays were lovely! The only reason I don't stay here that often any more is because I now require an onsite gym and this hotel isn't equipped with one. The only improvements...

We stayed here as a couple as we were attending a party nearby. The New Hobbit is in an amazing location high up over the town of Sowerby Bridge and commands stunning views. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was lovely (we didn't have a view, I would ask for one next time), the breakfast was plentiful...

I would just like to say a HUGE thank you to Robyn and all the staff at The hobbit for being kind, understanding, accommodating and helpful at our daughters wedding reception last Saturday, which was under a unnatural set of circumstances. They helped to make the day a huge success and our daughter and her new husband were very happy....
