This hotel is in the most amazing place with magnificent gardens. The hotel inside is just what we as a couple love with charm and warmth. Our room once again was great, not very big but beautifully clean with everything you could possibly want - especially with tv in bathroom. Again we had a patio room and very peaceful. The...

My husband and I have just returned from an overnight stay here, the first in over 5 years without any children. We booked a superior room which I felt was overpriced, there were stains on the carpet and on the side of the bed and we didn't have much of a view. The spa was having work done and there...

My partner took me here for my birthday and the drive up to the hotel is very impressive. We were booked into room 150 which was nice but quite old fashioned. Upon closer inspection it wasn't what you expect from a 4 star hotel for the price they charge. There are cracked tiles in the bathroom and the shower head...

Had a "Spa day" here recently on a visit back to Cumbria, and it totally confirmed why we have chosen Armathwaite Hall as our wedding venue next month!! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, the treatments were exemplary and the lunch was delicious. The facilities are fabulous and, all-in-all, I could not fault the...

We were given a voucher for afternoon tea as a Golden Wedding gift. It was a lovely afternoon, beautiful setting, the staff were extremely attentive and the food was absolutely excellent. I particularly enjoyed the quiche Tartlet and the scone. We felt we had spent a really special time. A lovely way to remember our very special celebration.

Booked this for one night via travel zoo, included dinner in the main restaurant overlooking the lake. We were so impressed we have booked with travel zoo for a night next month. We stayed in a club room which is in the main "old" part of the house. The room was beautiful and very spacious. Next time, they had no...

Came here for a Sunday afternoon tea and it was fantastic. A choice of leaf teas and types of scone. Ornate trays of ornate sandwiches, quiches, pastries and cakes with milkshake and a moose dessert. At first glance I didn't think it would fill me, but how wrong I was! Could hardly move by the end. Every sandwich and cake...

We recently attended a wedding which was held at the hotel. While I appreciate it is a spa resort, the price of the room was in my opinion over priced. Our room was located in the 'new' part of the hotel towards the event rooms and spa. We stayed for two nights, one of which was the event we were...
