Perfect location. Idyllic setting. Very relaxing yet with enough exploring surrounding you in the lakes to keep busy. Cottages are brilliant having all essential facilities and have a homely feel. Mrs Trafford does everything possible to make your stay pleasant. Highly recommended.

We spent half term in Brook House 2. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The location was perfect for my Sons who spent any moment they could paddling in the stream with their new friends outside. Alison, the owner was very welcoming and helpful. We had dinner at the Sun Inn (3 mins around the corner)...

We come to Bassenthwaite Hall Farm twice a year in one of the cottages and have been coming for 8 years, since we found this lovely little village on our forst trip to the Lakes. Lovely quiet location by the babbling brook, watching the ducks. We use the cottages as base, really comfortable and well equipped. Alison who owns the...

We've stayed in Brook House many times previously with my parents but this time myself & my partner along with our Border Terrier Archie stayed in the loft for a long weekend. As is usual from Alison the accommodation was superb, homely & welcoming. The location itself is a beautiful spot with a brook at the end of the garden...

There are several properties for rent on this farm. We stayed in the Nest, ideal for 2 people. Alison is a fantastic host. The cottage is in fact a converted barn and a nice touch is the history of the building included with the tourist information folder. We were lucky to have sunshine so we enjoyed watching the ducks in...

This is our 4th visit in 3 years. The first 2 times we (myself, boyfriend and dog) stayed in "the nest" a converted cattle shed which has lots of character. It has 1 bedroom, 1 living area, a kitchen and shower room. It is lovely and cosy. Our last and current holiday here (now with a second dog) were spent...
