Next to the beach and a good restaurant. Staff very friendly, coffee and water free all day. Eggs for breakfast are the best! Standard room next to the street is not very quiet but if you are looking for parties and wont sleep early it wont be a problem.

This place was amazing. I was there with my fiance for a friends wedding and we were delighted with the property and specially the service. The staff/owners were very nice, providing tips and helping us out in whichever way they could. The rooms were large, accommodating, clean, and looked new. I was happily surprised with how there was barely any mosquito around and definitely non at night that woke up up or bothered us. The service was great from helping arrange departure to serving an amazing breakfast (very complete with bread, cake, scrambled eggs, yogurt with granola, coffee, a cheese tapioca "crepe") in our own outdoor dinning area. The guest house itself provided Wifi, hot water, blackout blinds and basically everything you would need. Thanks for the great service!

Many of the previous reviews explain exactly how fantastic this inn/guesthouse is and what to expect from the village. I will try not to repeat the information. The Pousada: The location is great, the accommodation is really clean and comfortable, the breakfast is amazing, and the internet worked really well. Here you will meet warm and caring people, who will make you feel welcome, and who really care for your well being. I warmly recommend the Caraiva Guesthouse and there is a great chance I will stay here again. Caraiva and everyone from the pousada are now in my heart! Some tips for surviving in the village: Bring enough cash, as it may be difficult to pay by card. Bring flip flops or sandals for outdoor use and another pair for indoor. You won't regret it. Do not walk barefoot on the streets to avoid catching hookworm (better be on the save side!) Buy some long-lasting mosquito repellent. I have heard that spray is better. There are mangroves nearby and the mosquitoes are ferocious. And enjoy! Relax, try some great local dishes. Do not leave without trying the mashed banana, açaí, moqueca, and a Netuno drink, of course.

I don't know where to start. Maybe with the beautiful room (superior) which was big, clean, aircondotioned and most of all had a beautiful and huge veranda with an own hammock. It feels like your own little house in paradise. The garden of the pousada is a little paradise: in the dark you can lay on the hammock and watch the stars shining above you. The guesthouse is maybe 50 steps away from the beach and 200 from the vila. Walking through caraivan sand (there are no streets) isn't the biggest pleasure on earth but it's a funny experience for once. The rich breakfast which was served freshly each morning was delicious! It was more than I could eat but everything served, from fresh local fruits to homemade bakery, was delicious. Octavio and his staff, especially Paula and the girl from breakfast, made me feel so welcome. Especially travelling alone as a woman they quickly took away the feeling of being just another tourist, they made me feel at home and were very helpful. Octavio even organized my transfer back to Porto Seguro at the end of my stay. As for tours I can highly recommend the buggy tour to Corumbau. The buggy ride is an adventour, but being in Corumbau is just a dream. One more paradise! I also did the boat trip to Praia do Espelho which was just as nice. If you have the chance, you should do both. Thanks, Octavio and Paula. I hope to come back someday! Carolina

We had a wonderful and tranquil stay in this affordable pousada. Octavio and his staff are accomodating and made us feel right at home. Aside from enjoying a delicious breakfast each day (included), they were also sure to bring me extra ginger tea when they found out I had a cold! Also, if you are having saudades (missing) brunch as you know it, come here to re-up on your favorite midday meal. Finally, Octavio has great stories of traveling the world, and many tales of fatherhood. Bring Black Tea with you to share between tales of life and traveling the world over :)
