Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As other reviewers have stated, Spanish only management but very kind, narrow street leading to the B&B. It’s a 2 story building (looks like a motel with out the parking lot). Twin bedded room had adequate space, power bar to allow multiple charging of devices, TV, shower, lots of end table with drawers and a large shelf convenient for placing stuff since the sink is tiny and there’s no place for your personal items. Also, it’s a tight squeeze on the towel rack for 2 towels. A heater was installed on the wall. No black out curtain s or shades so you may be affected by the light outside on the balcony or when dawn appears. Room noise was limited to doors slamming when people entered/left their rooms but otherwise didn’t hear anything. Note: the owners/or care takers have 2 small dogs, one of whom likes to jump on people’s legs and they bark a bit at night. Beautiful flowers in the garden between the lodging and main house. Breakfast was included but no eggs were offered on the first day but when I enquired of another couple, they said the serving lady asked them how they wanted their eggs. So ask about getting eggs. Great restaurant just 2 small blocks down the road, Putre cafe. Check it out. They hostal only accepts cash.

Ask for a room with view of the mountain unless you want to look into the garden. Marisol is a wonderful hostess. Very willing to help out and accomodate. They are expanding the facilities. They do have a lack of communication limited to Spanish but seem to get by hosting Belgian, Germans, Brits and Austrians just on the weekend we were there. Breakfast was abundant and they will prepare eggs how you wish. Also they will provide coca tea or "mate" for the altitude and even filled my travel cup for the trip to Chungara. They use local fruits and vegetables. The room was cozy and warm with lots of clean and fluffy blankets on the bed as well as an electric heater we did not need. Bathroom adequate with hot water and pressure shower. They need to develop a WEB page and get a correct phone number for contact. The entrance should be taken in daylight as it is very narrow. A double cabin pick up can get through.

This is not a luxury resort, but then, you're in Putre, not Paris. The rooms are a little small, but everything is clean, shower is great, breakfast is great, the rooms have electric heaters and the couple attending is adorable. As is all these place in Chile, coffee served is instant, so if you like your good coffee, bring your own plus filter. In town, prices of any commodity (from water to paracetamol) vary hugely from shop to shop and if the price of any item seems wrong, try another shop.

We arrived in Putre on an icy-cold, overcast day, after being diverted off Rt 11 to Putre -road closed further than that. We had two rooms with a bathroom in between, cinderblock construction and COLD. But the beds are loaded with warm blankets and are comfortable. We had a space heater in one room the first night and in both rooms the second night. We slept well after making use of the strong Wi-Fi signal. Breakfast cost extra but was very good: coffee, tea, milk, juice, fruit (at least some from the garden), bread, cheese, jam, and fresh eggs. The proprietress is very nice, and she provided us with extra towels for the hot springs. Did I say the shower was hot? It was! The road to Parque National Lauca was open the next day and the scenery is incredible. One caution: the entrance alley to the hotel parking is narrow for what we were driving - a EuropCar 4WD truck - and we took out the rear view mirror while backing out the first morning.

we stayed here for our visit to the lauca national park and the area. We arrived very late in the evening and the owner (Maria) was so happy to see us! She immediatly brought some tea and made us feel like home. The breakfast with view on the mountains was amazing. I'm still enjoying.. She told us what to visit in the area (perfect advice! lauca national park, salar de surire and especially suriplaza, all very beautiful). The rooms are clean and cosy. Even though we are not very good in spanish, we all did our best and we felt very welcome and happy...

Marisol, the lady running the place, is a very warm-hearted host, and - as a local - shares great tips about what to see and to do ! The hotel is under expansion, and the romms already built are brand new, quite spacy, and offer what a traveller needs when arriving up at such high altitude (3'500m). You can also get breakfast there for a very reasonable price, customised to your likes, and even take it outside in the beautiful garden under the shade of Maracuja trees. In short, a great place to stay for a couple of days and explore the Altiplano, with a very friendly and helpful host !

This is a quite new place run and built by a nice lady and her parents. The rooms are on the small side and furniture is a bit odd, but beds are really good and comfy. The (private) bathroom was a big surprise, very modern, fully equipped and functional.

I went to Chile with a friend and Putre was on our plans. We found this place to stay by chance: Marisol just started the business, helped by her father and they were so cute with us like when we needed gas (no pump in the town) and they helped us with finding some. Taking breakfast in the middle of their garden with mountain view when the sun starts to warm-up the atmosphere is just exceptional and worth the experience. Highly recommended.
