I recently came back from a 5 night stay in Agroturisme Binisaid. It is a beautiful rural house about 3 kms from Cala Galdana, set back from the road. The owners are lovely, friendly people, but not much English is spoken, so brush up on your spanish or be prepared to do lots of gesturing! Rooms were super clean, great breakfast spread on the back patio each morning, with a DeLonghi coffee machine and fresh juice, and a lovely pool set amongst the back fields. A car is essential, and I thought it was a great base if you want to explore Menorca, or the nearby town has everything you need if your holiday is about doing as little as possible! Night time was peaceful, with only the sounds of nature outside! The only downside I could find was that the mattress was not the most comfortable, a little bit too hard and springy...but that didn't disrupt my sleep after a long day on the nearby beaches.
Overall a great stay, I would highly recommend it.
Booked a double room with extra bed for six nights and paid a deposit but when we arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon we were told that our room had just been given away to another couple who wanted it for eleven nights. We were shown to a small twin room which was not acceptable and finally were given a large apartment to ourselves. All a bit stressful really after an early start and a long flight as the owners don't speak English and had to ring their daughter to try and sort things out.
The rooms are clean but quite basic but there was everything we needed. There are no pots, pans, crockery or cutlery in the kitchen so not quite sure how you would take advantage of it. There was a sitting out area which was great to use at night. Nice to come back and have a bottle of wine under the stars. Great swimming pool.
The breakfasts were fantastic with freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries, cheese, meats, bread, fruit and a selection of teas and Nespresso coffees. We had a three course meal on two evenings for €24 each including wine and coffee which was delicious.
Bini Said is very handy and you can reach lots of interesting places and lovely beaches within half an hour. Lovely place which we really enjoyed after our initial hiccup.
Perfect quiet place with few guests, nice pool and great menorcan breakfast. If you are mobile with a rental car or anything likewise (which is recommended on Menorca anyways) it's the ideal place. Also you have really nice owners and if you choose to have dinner there you'll be served an authentic menorcan homemade dinner...delicious!
Binisaid only has 3 rooms taht makes it super quiet. The owners are very welcoming and and atemptive. The breakfast bufet is served in an outdoors eating area that is very nice. The breakfast is more than complete with natural orange juice that you can do yourself, different kinds of bread, local cheese and smoked meats, fruit, etc. The swiming pool is not huge but with all the amazing beaches to explore it is more than enough! The closest beach is Cala Galdana, 15 minutes drive, some 40 minutes walk. It is very turistic and in August could be difficult to park. The room was clean, a bit on the small for big luggage but with a bit of organization perfectly manageable. The bathroom is separated from the sleeping area by a fabric curtain that can be akward for some people not used to share everything!! Anyway outside the room there is a loundge are with sofas and TV were you can chill if you want to give space. Otherwise it is a good size bathroom with a shower. Outside the room there is a small fridge that is really handy to keep water and fruit fresh and cool. There are no restaurants at a walking distance but in Ferreries or Cala Galdana (both 10/15 minutes drive) there are pleanty restaurants open until late. Over all I would go back
We booked this after reading the other good reviews and how pleased we were that we did! It was the perfect place to stay for us. You drive through a gate and then down the private lane, to arrive at the beautiful old farmhouse, in the middle of its own farmland. Sheep graze nearby and there is total peace. The room is a typical Spanish farmhouse type, with very comfortable beds, a good shower, very clean indeed. The swimming pool is lovely, we were the only guests, and to sit there after a days walking and watch the setting sun whilst sipping a glass of fizz was something quite special. Then there is the delicious food! The lovely couple who own the place make all their own jams, marmalades, cheese, cured meats. The bread is superb and the pastries & biscuits at breakfast unmissable. There is supper available at a very reasonable charge, and that was amazing, the lady of the house is the most wonderful cook, four delicious courses & great wine! On top of all this the location is great, in the middle of the island, so everywhere is in reach, yet 5 minutes from the gorgeous Cala Galdana by car - which is a necessity if you are staying here.
We absolutely loved it, hope to return next year and highly recommend it if you love the countryside, peace, walking, lovely beaches and good food. It is also fantastic value for money.
