We spent a very relaxed weekend with the family at the de zeeuwse stromen. Staff was very friendly and facilities were sufficient to spend a layed-back weekend. There's a small 'wellness area' consisting of a small whirlpool, a sauna and a steam room as well as an indoor pool. The outdoor pool was closed due to the season. Breakfast was served in form of an international Buffet with a variety of sweet and savoury items just as you might find in any 3 star + hotel. On our first evening we also went for the dinne buffet which was surprisingly good. The rooms were well maintained and clean and special needs were attended too promptly. The hotel itself is situatef approximately 300 m from the seemingly endless beach and going for a walk around the area is very appealing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.

This was a 3 night stay for me & the missus to get away from it all... and this hotel exceeded my expectations!

PERFECTLY located just behind the sand dunes, 5min walk to the lovely dutch beaches of Zeeland. No large appartment blocks or ugly promenades here. You immediately feel at rest in this hotel...

+plusses+

Breakfast was a DELIGHT. Other hotels, please take notes - THIS is how you do breakfast!!
Several kinds of fresh bread, croissants and tasty scambled eggs. More types of museli than you can name. Skim, semi , whole milk options.... Coffee options with REAL MILK.... I could go on. If I could have my way I would have had the breakfast buffet 3x a day here..!

SUPERB staff. Can't remember the last time I felt almost embarrassed to be so well served. This is 5*****star service, I cannot complement the staff enough.

The hotel itself is very well laid out, with lovely lawns in the courtyard, a pool and lots of peaceful place to sit and eat or drink both daytime and evening.

Lunch & dinner options are superb, in my opinion. Both healthy and heavy choices, and can be eaten outside, in the restaurant, or in the cosy bar.

The bar is great. Nice choices, bar-men/women who know what they are doing and very comfy.

Bike hire is cheap and so well organized.

-minuses-

Well, these are really MINOR issues to be honest... I would have liked a minibar in the room.... and perhaps a few more deck-chairs by the pool.
But I'm really struggling to find negatives so I will stop.

All in all? I will return here as soon as possible. Probably next time with my 2 year old as well. Great for both couples and family.

If you do not like this place then you need your head checked!!!

5 STARS from me and the missus'

Nice rooms, great breakfast, friendly staff.
Parking space around the hotel is limited. It's free for guests, if you can find a spot...
Not much space in the shade around the swimming pool, some umbrellas would be helpfull and also some more chairs would be nice.

This is a great little get away hotel with an excellent bar and little small rental cottages. Pretty pricey for what you get if compared to hotels in Rotterdam or Amsterdam. On the other hand what you don't get in Rotterdam or Amsterdam (service, comfort, space, nature) you definitely get ample of here. The food variety in the hotel is limited and you may get tired of it after a couple of days. Gym and pool is also rather limited although sufficient.

It's certainly nowhere near the quality of the Grand Hyatt hotel in Singapore - despite the fact that you'll be paying close to what you'd pay there. But you're in Holland and you're getting top Dutch hospitality and amenities so that should mean something. It is by far the most enjoyable and coziest hotel I go to when in the Netherlands. Since this is meant to be a nature-reserve-like getaway don't expect any exciting night life or city adventures. You're in the middle of nowhere, near a small village, near the forest, water and beach. The most you should expect to do in the area away from the hotel is go bowling. And restaurants within walking distance will be limited to a few cafes that close on Sunday's, a pizza place and your mandatory Chinese take-away restaurant.

Highly recommend, especially if looking for a great retreat. But not for everyone.

We booked a weekend at the Zeeuwse Stromen and it was a succes.
- very nice room (ask for a "duinappartement" with supplement - very modern bathroom)
- friendly and smiling staff
- good service
- the arrangement we booked was including a four course dinner (correct) and buffet breakfast
(there was a problem with the breakfast - broken coffee machine and supply problem - they credit us for the two breakfasts = very commercial gesture)
- an outdoor and indoor pool with sauna and jacuzzi - free towels
- walking distance to the sea
We like the place and will come back for a break.
