Waterfall home stay with Karen and her family was a delight. We stayed in the Jungle room. We could play in bed and watch the monkeys playing in the trees outside. Breakfast was a delight. We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. A place we would want to revisit

I stayed with Karen and Martin for 2 nights in February - what an amazing place. They are a fantastic couple, really good company and interesting, it truly is more like staying with friends than in a hotel or guest house. The location is excellent, only a 15 minute walk from the centre of Ella (note that a shortcut to avoid the steep slope out of Ella is to walk in the other direction until you reach the railway station and then walk along the railway line towards the waterfall). It is tranquillity itself, no noise but the rustling of leaves. The food was the best I had in Sri Lanka - fabulous breakfast in a superb outdoor setting overlooking the waterfall and dinner is an optional 1,000Rs and well worth twice the price. I stayed in the Jungle Room and wondered if I would be too hot with no ceiling fan or aircon, but I was extremely comfortable and not too warm at all. I cannot fault the Waterfalls Homestay or its hosts.

We spent 2 wonderful night here in June as part of our 1 month family holiday to Sri Lanka.
Karen and Martin were away at the time, however we were in the very capable hands of Khmal and his staff.
What a wonderful time we had. The food that Khmal cooked each night and for breakfast was the best that we experience in Sri Lanka. He even made a lovely prawn pasta for th kids as I think he could sense they were a bit over curry.

The house is beautiful and offers so many areas to take in the spectacular views and you can't help but total relax.
We stayed in the family room which was really comfortable and clean.

My husband and I both had a massage whilst we were there which was really reasonably priced and we would both highly recommend .

Our only regret is that we didn't book a longer stay.

We are a family of four ( daughters are ages 21 and 15) who traveled throughout Sri Lanka for three weeks in June. We stayed in Ella at the wonderful Waterfalls Homestay after arriving on the local train from Nuwara Eliya ( quite a fun adventure!). This was our favorite place that we stayed during our entire two weeks in Sri Lanka!

The adorable guesthouse has only four rooms, spotlessly clean, lovingly well-kept and as cute as can be. They were able to put an extra fold-up bed into our room so that our whole family could be in one room together, which we always enjoy. My daughters are huge lovers of cats and were very excited when the owner's cat, Tinkerbell, decided to join us in our room each night when she was ready for bed :-)

A beautiful area to eat outside overlooks the waterfall for which the guesthouse is named. It was dry season when we were there and the waterfall was pretty then, I can only imagine how amazing it is during the wet season!
Karen and her staff are wonderful in the kitchen and we were served a fantastic breakfast each morning of delicious curd, fresh fruit, toast, jams made by the monks in Ella, as well as tea/coffee/juice and water. There is an additional breakfast item made each day, once we had a scrumptious egg dish made with abalone mushrooms on toast and the next day we had traditional breakfast curry with hoppers! We ate at the guesthouse one night, and the food that Karen and her staff made for us was wonderful! We were served an assortment of different delicious Sri Lankan curries, including a jack fruit curry that was spectacular! This was honestly some of the best food we had on our entire trip.

They are happy to refill your water bottles with the rain water that they collect which is nice on the environment. Free WiFi is available and Karen is happy to give you directions and/or ideas of things to do in Ella. Everyone was so kind and helpful and we had a blast staying here! We honestly can't wait to return! The walk to the top of the hill where the house is located is quite pleasant and if you don't feel like making the trek on foot late at night then it is very easy and very cheap to hire a local tuk-tuk to carry you up.

Thank you to Karen and the staff at Waterfalls for such nice memories of Ella!

Arrived in the dark, so didn't fully appreciate the setting until the following morning! Who needs curtains when there is the opportunity to wake up to that view! Stayed for three nights and it was just what I needed after a hectic few days travelling. Relaxing breakfast (fab) shared with other guests. Good opportunity to discuss experiences and get some tips! Room lovely (jungle room ) and plenty of space to chill out on the terrace. Karen was away but Kiah was an excellent hostess. Extremely welcoming and helpful and always ready with wine after a hectic day! She very kindly arranged for me to have dinner at the homestay next door on the last evening where the chef made me the most fantastic garlic curry (on my wish list for the trip! )and again I got to share dinner with some lovely people. Easy walk into Ella (or get a tuk tuk) and lots of easily accessible days out. Kiah provided a good map and lots of useful advice. Was sad to move on and would highly recommend this guesthouse.

Ditto what Yeshe61 says. Easy to get a tuk tuk. They may arrange one to be there to meet you if you ask. They are very accommodating. We loved our stay and are sure you will love it too!

How many bedroom, and prices for begining March?
Answer from Raksha K

There are 4 different rooms, 3 of which are advertised and a spare room. The largest room is the studio room, which accommodates a large bed and a single bed. For prices, it's best to contact the owners directly via their website.

Hi! I'm not the owner! You must contact them! I just stayed there for one night! Look them up on the internet, you'll find all the contacts there! Tripad won't let me link you the address.
