We booked in for 3 nights over the Australia Day weekend and can throughly recommend this place for a quiet time away from the hassle and bustle of city life. The Glamping experience was fantastic with the tents fitted out with comfy queen beds and adjoining on suites with fantastic Bush views over the Clyde River. Colin’s food was to die for and Chris’s service and whit was fantastic. The resident dogs Coco, Pepper and Billy kept us company where ever we went on the property. Lots of wildlife in this natural setting also. We can highly recommend this establishment and will return.

We stayed in a "tent" for 2 nights, but it was so much more than that. Beautiful timber room with a canvas roof and rainwater tank converted into a external bathroom. The rooms were lovely, the food was 5-star "hatted" amazing, the views were serene and the staff (Chris and Colin plus doggies) were so friendly. Lots of chill out time and activities to do on the river. I'm a busy person normally but it was so nice to just leave that behind and just sit on the deck to read.

The road there was corrugated so can be a bit rough and you do have to drive across a river so check the tides. There are no power points in the tents either.

Was a particularly stinking hot day but the river cooled us off. Would love to visit again in winter for a different experience.

We have just returned from 3 of the most relaxing nights of our life. Quite often places do not live up to expectation, but " The Escape " exceeded all ours. We were given a very warm and friendly welcome from Col and Lucile ( and Billie, Coco and Pepper ), and made to feel special right from the start. We stayed in the "Studio", positioned with a great view of the River, and well appointed. We could sit outside on our veranda, or inside on the day bed, watching the abundant wildlife outside our room. Then there is the food, Col treats you to fine dining, breakfast , lunch and 3 course dinner, clever use of local produce and amazing flavours, all served in a relaxed very friendly atmosphere on the balcony of the main dining area. There is an excellent wine selection also.
Then there is bushwalking, kayaking , or just chilling. Colin and Lucile have made something quite special , we will definitely be returning.

Hi David, Thanks so much for taking the time to write about your experience at The Escape. It was an absolute pleasure to meet both you and Judy, as well as to see the two of you really soak up what is on offer at the property. We look forward to welcoming you back at The Escape down the track sometime. Cheers!

My partner and I decided to go to The Escape for my birthday weekend and we are so glad we did. Since our first inquiry and throughout the whole booking process, to directions to get to the property and high-tide times, Lucille was utmost helpful in every way possible. I think I had the most relaxing weekend in a long time and was able to relax and enjoy the surrounds of nature. We stayed in one of the tents by the river which was amazing – the bed and pillows were so comfortable, and the view was to die for. There was sufficient room, magazines and activates aplenty. Despite the rain, we were still able to enjoy some bushwalking around the property and to the shallow crossing, kayaking and had one of the best sleeps ever with the rain on the tent roof  We were well fed and watered over the weekend with Colin’s outstanding meals for B/L/D…. the food was top notch quality, and definitely deserves a hat or 2! I experienced some of the most perfectly cooked food in my life and all while enjoying good company and views.
Colin and Lucille certainly know how to please their guest, their service and attentiveness was second-to-none. we hope to be back!

Just spent an amazing 3 nights at The Escape. With 2 teenagers it is always hard to find a holiday destination that pleases everyone. Whilst they were not convinced when I announced we were going "glamping" from the minute we got there there were smiles on everyone's faces. We were met by 'Billie' the dog who then spent much of the next 3 days accompanying us around the property. We enjoyed kayaking on The Clyde River, going for walks surrounded by the local kangaroos & generally just relaxing. The " tents" are well equiped with queen bed & fold out double bed. The Studio is very spacious with queen bed, fold out double bed & room for one more. Both The Studio & "tents" have amble deck room to sit an enjoy the view. The rates at The Escape include breakfast, lunch & dinner. Every meal that was served was absolutely delicious. Colin is a fantastic cook & all the food was 5 star quality. The whole family enjoyed every mouthful. This is an amazing, peaceful place to stay & I would highly recommend it to anyone.
