Rooms may need some updates, but who cares, they were clean.
Staff is friendly and this is a pet friendly hotel.
Conveniently located from to town and university.
Grounds are nicely kept and there is a pool.
The Hotel had dirty rooms, gray sheets, hair on the floor in the bathroom, and dirty towels left in the room. Poor maintence, and poor service. Additionally, the pool was overwhelmed by persons who were not even staying in the Hotel, of which i know accomadations are limited in Farmville. However, patrons should be able to enjoy the accomadations for their stay and payments.
The rooms were very nice. Enjoyed the breakfast bar. Very friendly staff. There was a pizza place across the street that was very good, as well. Other restaurants nearby as well. Children enjoyed the indoor pool as well. Although we didn't have much time to explore, Farmville seemed like a nice, college town.
Came into town to visit family that lives close by. Our room was clean, quiet and well stocked with amenities. Breakfast was a great treat with both hot and cold options. The woman running it was extremely polite and kept everything stocked and clean. Will definitely be staying again the next time we are in the area.
If you get a chance there is a great state park, Bear Creek Lake, not too far away. Again very clean and made for a great day swimming and hiking. (Hotel pool was not open for the season yet).
This is our last vacation as a family for many years to come so we booked a double queen suite so all 4 of us could bike ride the High Bridge and just enjoy being together for a few days.
Upon arrival we were told there had been a mistake and there were no suites left. We are very loyal to Hilton and had enough points to cover the 115000 pts required for the family sized suite.
The lady at the front desk was very nice, pleasant and apologetic. I asked if there was at least a suite e just a king and a standard room for our kids so we had some room to enjoy time together in the large suite area and The kids could sleep in the standard room.
She was very accommodating and friendly and I have no complaints in her arena as she did not make the mistake but a co worker double booked the suite.
What I do have concerns about is that we used our points specifically to have a large space for all of us during the entire weekend and not separate rooms due to a reservation double booking for the suite we had reserved.
The hotel itself is nice and the outdoor pool is a plus after bike riding all day. The elevators smell bad though as if wet dogs have been in them yet I know this is a pet free hotel.
Normally I give Hilton 5 stars but I just cannot do so on this stay.
