Write a reviewThis looked like just another hum drum motel from the street when we pulled up out front but looks obviously can be deceiving! When directed to our room around the corner street and via another access, the place opened up into a really attractive, unique and well maintained facility with a resort like presentation. Granted there are quite a few steps to negotiate for most rooms and parking is a bit squeezy but all in all this is a really great accommodation facility.
We stayed for only one night and had a simple motel style room which was comfortable and clean and had a nice small balcony overlooking the swimming pool and garden - just about all units do. Only negative we had were the vertical blinds on the large windows and door out to the balcony - not very effective in keeping the early morning light out of the room, especially as our room's windows faced east.
Wifi was free which was a good thing as mobile phone reception was non existent!

Hi Warooka, Thank you for posting your review of Tathra Beach House, we always appreciate comments from our guests. Our motel units are a great option for one person or a couple for an overnight stay, our self-contained apartment options may be more suitable for a longer stay. Sorry about the blinds, we are presently going through the process of looking at alternative styles of blinds that would be more affective, hopefully they will be changed in the next few months. We are glad to hear that our Free WiFi worked well for you, we are also very disappointed with the phone service that the mobile phone companies provide in Tathra, Telstra service is poor a, Optus & Vodaphone service is non-existent. However all of our properties do have direct dial phones. Thank you once again; we hope you have an opportunity to return to Tathra and the Tathra Beach House soon. Regards Rob White

We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean and well stocked. The check in was easy and the staff very friendly. Beach across the road and cafes in walking distance. Great balcony, pool and spa area very relaxing. This was my third stay here and I would definitely stay again.

Booked for 12 guys for a weeks golfing on the south coast, having stayed at Tathra Beach House before, I had no hesitations booking here after our annual Vic trip was canceled due to Covid. The room alocations of 2 to an appartment was ideal, with heaps of space and great access to the BBQ and Pool area. Rob and Lesley, together with their staff are just terrific, will be back again and again.

We spent 4 nights here a part of a large group attending a wedding. We saw a number of the different apartments and they all looked fabulous. The setting in the hillside was beautiful and many apartments had lovely water views. Some even had a spa on the balcony overlooking the sea. The apartments were very spacious and fully self contained. Ours had two bedrooms with a queen and two single beds. Perhaps the only suggestion would be that it would have been nice to have a king bed. Also, the apartments set into the hills involve negotiating quite a few stairs which needs to be taken into account for those with any sort of mobility issues and also for carrying luggage and groceries. There are some apartments on the ground level but I think most of those are two storeys inside so there are still stairs to negotiate. (Please check my accuracy on this if stairs are an issue.) There is also an outdoor pool and spa, telescopes, conference room, lovely gardens/paths etc. The complex is situated directly over the road from the beach and on the main street with a small group of shops. The Tathra Beach House is definitely on the list for a return visit.

Hi Nagatron Thank you for staying with us at Tathra Beach House and thank you for your comments and suggestion, we appreciate feedback from our guests. We are pleased that you and the rest of the wedding group enjoyed your weekend in Tathra. We are getting more and more wedding groups coming to Tathra, we have some great wedding venues; the Tathra Surf Club on the beach is very popular. Most of our accommodation options do have stairs our Town House Apartments have one internal flight of stairs, while the Loft Units have one external flight of stairs. The Ocean View Spa Apartments, the Tree Top Apartments and Villas have more than one flight. However just a few months ago we opened our brand new Easy Access apartments that are fully disabled compliant, these have easy level access with no stairs. We always prefer that our guests phone us to discuss their requirements particularly if they have mobility problems so that we can recommend the most suitable style of accommodation. My daughter and I went to the Tathra Beach House and we stayed in the motel style accommodation. The room was excellent, it had a balcony and a small kitchenette. There was good selection of cable TV channels and the bed was great and the wifi was free. The pool and spa were close by and a patroled beach is directly across the road. The grounds were well cared for and the reception staff were great.
