Write a reviewA huge thank you to Sharon & Peter for our wonderful stay at Waimarie in early May - perfect in every way! My husband & I stayed 6 nights in Apartment 2 (there is only 2 one bedroom apartments at Waimarie, both recently re-novated/re-decorated). The apartment was spotless, really comfortable, quiet and really does has everything you need. It is all thought of - beach towels & beach blankets, backpack, yoga mat, water bottle, umbrella, cloths line and hand washing facility (laundry use on request). Books, magazines, Satellite TV, DVD's, wifi which worked very well. The luxury items such as that wonderful linen bedding, the quality bathroom towels and products plus our welcome items of champagne/beer, home made biscuits, sourdough bread, eggs and the great fresh coffee just add to the overall fabulous experience. Waimarie is in a slightly elevated position, so the views toward the lagoon from the verandah and bedroom are great and sitting in the garden seat over-looking the airport runway to the mountains was just picture perfect. Yes, you can watch the odd plane come in - being near the airport is a novelty bonus here, certainly not a hindrance! From what I could see when researching accommodation and then travelling around the island, Waimarie is amongst just a few places to stay on LHI with views. So if you are like us and like to come home from a days adventure and sit back with a quiet drink and a beautiful, unique view this is definitely the apartment for you on LHI! Sharon & Peter are unobtrusive, but there when you need, assisting us with a tour & grocery shopping on arrival, dropping us off to get our bikes for our stay, daily activity info sheets & transport to dinner at night. Waimarie is an easy ride or walk into the "town centre" and really a great location to go north or south from on the island. We were out bush walking, snorkelling or fishing every day and it was never a problem getting to or from Waimarie under bike or leg power! - (we are both 50). We truly cannot fault our stay - having planned to go to LHI for about 5 yrs, staying at Waimarie was so relaxing, value for money and our best decision. It in fact, enhanced our stay and activities on this beautiful part of Australia.

My husband and I have just spent 7 amazing days at Waimarie on Lord Howe island. The one bedroom apartments, owned by Sharon and Peter are beautiful, there are so many personal touches, from local artwork, freshly baked bread on arrival, gorgeous body and hair products to every possible item you would need when exploring this wonderful island. The views from the apartments are second to none, they are private, but located close to the lagoon and Blinky beach and a short distance from the island centre.
This was our second holiday to Lord Howe and the difference staying somewhere family owned and run was noticeable. This tiny island has a rich history and it was awesome to find out about growing up and living in such a special place.
Lord Howe is a must to visit, it is so relaxing and yet there are so many places to see and explore.
Thank you Sharon and Peter for making our holiday even more special.

Our hosts, Sharon and Peter were extremely thorough from our first point of contact. Their attention to detail shines through from beginning to end, their communication, the finish in the apartment, the facilities and their willingness to assist us during our stay was exemplary. Small live floral arrangements were tied together and placed in each room adding a warm, welcoming touch. There was a separate transit lounge which contained a fridge, books and a pleasant sitting area and beside this was a laundry with washing machine, dryer and clothes line. We had everything we could possibly need. There was a BBQ and sufficient wood to cook the heartiest of meals. The location is a short walk to Blinky's Beach on one side of the Island and The Lagoon to watch any spectacular sunset. It's only a short walk to the beginning of all the Central Island walking tracks. We loved staying in Waimarie Apartments and would definitely stay there again. A little piece of paradise, just outside Lord Howe's CBD. If I had to say something I liked least, it was there wasn't an electric blanket on the bed when we stayed there.... and I was warm enough.

For 30 years we have stayed at other places on LHI but Waimarie has by far been the best. The beautiful one bedroom apartment in a quiet haven with a view to treasure is an absolute must.
We almost hesitatingly write the review as want to keep the idealic southern part of the island a secret.
Sharon’s warmth, clear communication, strong organisational skills and attention to detail is inspiring. The apartment was amazingly clean and filled with treats that constantly lured our senses.
All the extras at Waimarie go beyond comfort and the luxury provided by Sharon and Peter is unmatchable.
We have rebooked two apartments for a fortnight and are already wondering how we can return even earlier...
We are filled with gratitude for the generosity of our hosts and for the glorious break away at the beloved five star Waimarie!

Waimarie overlooks the airport, In most parts of the world this would be a negative but like on Fantasy Island "The plane, The plane" is an event rather than an inconvenience. We could not land and went back to Sydney but when we returned we were able to stay longer in Paradise. And a pleasant surprise it was. Its our 8th time on LHI over 40 years but first at Waimarie on a spur of the moment decision to revisit the island. We had been told it had been recently refurbished and what a tasteful job our hosts, Sharon & Peter, have done. Most LHI accommodation are bed sit style but Waimarie consists of 2 one bed cottages (one party wall), a beautiful, well appointed bathroom top quality soaps and shampoos, King size bedroom with quality bed linen and towells and a good sized lounge/kitchen with all amenities and good plunger coffee. The deck and bedroom have a water view filtered by Kentia palms, a native of the island. Accommodation with water views are quite rare on LHI and the covered balcony is very pleasant to sit on even on rainy days. The provision of a transit room is also a rare plus when late checkout is not possible. It is comfortable and has a coffee & tea making facilities, wifi and best of all a phone (no mobile phones by plebisite of the citizens).
Waimarie is located halfway between Blinky's beach (ocean) & the Lagoon, a bit out the way of the village centre but the island is small and bike riding the main transport easily gets you to most places you want to go in a 10 minute ride. There is a little known tiny beach on the lagoon at the end of the runway fence which is a 2 minute ride from your cottage which was our private retreat. No accommodation on LHI is cheap but Waimarie is better value than most. Finally Sharon and Peter are lovely people who are there, just a 2 minute walk across a scenic little bridge, if you need them including car transport if your weary legs require it. We are saving our pennies to go back.

Hi, thank you for your enquiry re accommodation. Thank you for calling me to. Yes we have availability 1-9 April . The cost for this is $400 per night. For April we have a special stay 7 pay for 5 . Flights through Sydney have more options. The Port flights are only on Saturday. Regards, Sharon.
