After biking 60 miles, we were so happy to find this hotel right on the GAP trail in Connellsville! Our room was clean, updated and quiet. The back patio was very pretty with a nice view of the river. There were several restaurants within walking distance. We would definitely stay here if passing through again.

It was a but confusing when we drove up and saw that instead of the Cobblestone Hotel that we had booked, there was now a Comfort Inn. The front desk staff just shrugged when customers came in and asked and said that reservations through either chain would work. The front desk staff were okay, but not overly friendly and welcoming. The experience improved after check-in. We were happy to find an updated room that was clean and comfortable. The lobby is modern and updated and there's a hot beverage station available around the clock. The complimentary breakfast was well set up and it was nice to have the option to sit out on the back deck and enjoy the river view. Not much going on in this rural small town, but a good place to stay after a late afternoon visit to nearby Fallingwater (less than 1/2 hour drive away).

We stayed here for three nights and were most impressed with the cleanliness and good sized rooms. We did think we had booked a room with a view of the river but the girl at reception didn't seem to know which numbers were at which side of the hotel. It turned out our room was on the opposite side but we were very happy with that as we had a lovely view of the river at breakfast. The decor was a little different, well suited to the town and more classy than your average modern hotel. I liked little details like magnets in the shower curtain to hold it against the bath. There was a good selection for hot breakfast and plenty of coffee available at all times with flavoured creamers and syrups. Also a selection of tea so we really couldn't fault the place.

Room Tip: Rooms on the river side do get a little noise from the trains but not sufficient to give a problem.

Get a room on the back so you have a river view. Check out the Book Case, used book store. Great bike friendly town and restaurants, try the Kickstand for funky sandwiches. Can't get any closer to GAP bike trail than this hotel.
