Friendly and welcoming staff at check in and at the restaurant.

For the price of the room ($60) it was perfectly acceptable. The bed, pillows and bedding were fantastic and we had a lovely night sleep.

Two heaters in the room which kept us toasty and warm considering it was 0deg outside !!

The shower was only a trickle, but for the price we paid, it did the job.

Would happily go back and recommend to other people

Who would have expected to have meals like this in the Great Lake area! All our meals were quality. The eye fillet was cooked perfectly. Scallops and prawns were full of flavour. We suggest if you are driving passed, stop in for lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed. We will be back. All the staff were friendly and clearly loved working there. What a team!!

We decided to stay the night hoping for snow in the morning, the family room was clean and tidy, there was plenty of room for the kids.

We had a self contained cabin - dirty, the wardrobe doors hanging off the top runners, the. ancient shaving cabinet had no mirror and a spare toilet roll sitting in it, heating not adequate for this cold area and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned for a while. The restaurant was terrible and over priced and staff not very friendly. No key return for early departures so we just left it in the room. The bedroom curtain also fell off as the curtain stop fell off. Avoid at all costs.

Another great long weekend at the Great Lake Hotel,
Mate and I up there chasing the trout (unfortunately the weather wasn’t so kind!)
Always love staying here…the owner Jason and his team treat us like friends, not clients.
What a great set up they have here, with a well stocked store (read cafe, variety store, fishing tackle and take away food and of course fuel)
Always start the day with a cappuccino!
So back to the hotel.
We stayed in a two bed en-suite room which was neat, well appointed and perfect for a couple of mates.
Meals each night were great, an extensive menu to satisfy all tastes…..of course pre dinner beers at the bar beside the roaring log fire on winters days.
Special shout out to Fiona and Paige who looked after us each night.
Wait….there’s more …. They run professional trout guides…with expertise second to none, Jason, Martin and Fiona available by booking ahead to tackle some of the thousands of waterways and lakes holding the elusive trout (they mainly alluded me this weekend)
All in all, great place and looking forward to returning shortly.
Cheers
