So happy to actually stay at a hotel that is truly dog friendly. A lot of hotels have dog friendly rooms but that is it. This hotel allows your dog in all the common areas , pool area etc. It is nice to be able to relax with the dog.by the pool.
Hotel is very clean and rooms are good size. I love the Bliss products in the shower.
There is a pool bar and a bar in the hotel. There is also a little "bistro" type area with bakery products in the morning etc.
Beyond that the staff is extremely helpful and nice. All staff were very friendly that I wish I got all their names to thank them.
We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The only down side which was not the hotel's fault was an unofficial car event. It was so loud. Unfortunately for our dog it was very traumatic. The loud noises and backfiring of cars was all day and night. So we really couldnt walk around Ocean City. We used takeout for food and stayed by the pool in the back of the hotel. The first two nights it was very hard to sleep. I always bring a sound machine to have background noise for the dog when I travel. Even with that and the balcony door closed it was so loud it was hard to sleep.
Finally for the third night I asked if we could switch to the bay side. Johara kindly accomodated us and saved our final night of vacation.
I can't wait to stay again when there is not a car event and we can actually enjoy what Ocean City has to offer.
Great Job Aloft Ocean City for having great employees
PS Marcus says hello to Dexter!!
Normally stay at the Clarion, but they were booked, so Aloft comes up quickly upon searching dog friendly hotels. Read some
Of the recent TA posts, and hey, it’s a new kind of hotel experience. We stayed 9/22-25. Some changes, no temporary parking at valet. Regular, handicap, and electric charging stations. I don’t think anyone drives this distance with an electric car but I may be wrong. But the lot is close to the hotel and all is well. Plenty of new style valet
Only 2 terminals for check-in, not sure how it goes in Summer but that’s not my concern. Friendly greeting, dog water and treats available, and as Aloft is new they are ready to answer questions. Rooms are very hip and well laid out. Love the large bathroom with the toilet and shower in one room and a large sink with light up mirror in the ‘hallway’. Huge TV that moves on the wall so you can not miss anything if you are in either bed or in the diner style corner booth for seating. Fridge with LED lighting makes a great night light. Shower caddy shampoo and soap remind you the cruise ships so you need to pack less. Towels are plentiful.
TV is really cool. No LIVE HBO but you do have several HBO channels and all their programming to start and stop at your discretion. Same with YouTube TV, and Netflix. It’s a smart TV, so you
can run what you want through it. Love that idea. I watched Bananas with Woody Allen last night. While Roxy the Beach Puggle did not care for the movie, she did LOVE the comfortable bedding, pillows, and balcony. Great warm breezes and sunsets await you on the bayside.
Pool bar was well stocked with a good lunch menu and lots of drinks. Pool water was a little on the cold side. Chairs and towels are well supplied. Second pool day had to bag it quick due to fleas or gnats of some sort. Glad I did not bring Roxy down to the pool that day. But have no fear Aloft has an adjacent indoor pool so the day moves on. Lobby bar was busy and the convenient store was well stocked.
Not sure why some negative complaints were posted. Aloft has food on site and the several
Dog owners were all happy. Well worth the $138 per night and $0 per surcharge. All staff greets you, plenty of areas to walk your dog also. Aloft has a hidden outdoor event area. The roadway towards the south corner by their dumpster is a great area along the water with a events tent that can be set up. Quiet corner for private events. Also Aloft is part of a group of recent hotels built in the area on bulkheads allowing birds and wildlife to relax nearby. No mini marinas if deck parties. Great location.
We only had the chance to stay here for one night and stayed at another marriott property the other two nights we were in town but I really enjoyed our quick stay. Super clean room, VERY comfortable bed and a super cool theme/vibe to the hotel.
The pool area was super nice. They had a live reggae band the day we were there and they were great. Dogs everywhere (we wish we brought ours) and super nice staff. The pool temp was a lot colder than I expected, maybe there isn't a heater? Not sure but I loved it anyway. We even watched the labor day fireworks at night near the pool bar that they have a secrets.
If we come back to OC anytime soon we will definiely choose the Aloft Hotel as our first choice.
I don't think the room pictures online do it justice so i attached a few.
Almost new hotel, really good service, great staff.
We had two rooms, one with the Bay view. Both rooms were clean, comfy beds, nice views from the balconies. Everything worked well.
Walking distance to the beach.
Good dining place next door, with great selection of beers. And they actually have a nice night view if the hotel from their pier ;)
Decent sized outdoor pool, kids loved it. And nice setting with palm trees, bar and bay views by the way.
They also have kayak and paddle boards rental, but we didn't use it.
Plenty of parking space.
This is a great , modern hotel! Lots of extras..game room, awesome pool, activities like paddleboarding right next to the pool / pool bar.
Front desk staff was excellent! We will be back! BUT....... the day of my trip I received emails at 425am stating that both of my rooms had been cancelled! Glad I checked my email before I left for the trip! I called reservations and spoke with customer care and they said they were not sure why my rooms were cancelled. Then I had to re-book at a higher rate ! They said they would open a case and get back to me within three days. No calls. I chatted on the website after 5 days and they said the manage of the property would call me within three days...no call. I, of course, would like and explanation and price adjustment. To date...nothing. I am sure the cause of the cancellation was something odd but the lack of follow up is very disheartening. Maybe I did something wrong I need to avoid in the future? If so let me know Aloft !
