A very clean and nice place to stay. You'll feel like home at Borders. The pool, breakfast, room are all great and well done. We asked to be on the 1st floor along with another family member - no problem. Had trouble fixing a cellphone - no problem. Pool is open until midnight - that's nice. We didn't always have the best wifi connection - but a minor thing. Trust me - you'll be fine and really enjoy your stay here. Shout out to Jesi who checked us in and gave us lots of good advice about things in the area and treated us like family. On the overnight - stop by the front desk and Elizabeth will treat you right and even offer to "turn on the fireplace" without you even asking. Now that's treating you right. Well done everybody. Keep on treating your guests like family.
We used to stay at another location that was closer to our destination but after it progressively kept going downhill, we decided to stay here. We kept asking ourselves why we hadn’t stayed here before now?? Decorated like a lodge. Very cozy & clean. Would have been delightful in winter with the big fireplace going, puzzles & games in the lobby. Pool. Pool table. Bar. Comfy beds. Breakfast was unimpressive but that was the only thing that could use some work. Even had a little gift shop! We will definitely stay here again next time we are in town
Our room was great and the staff was excellent however the pool was very dirty and needed to be emptied and cleaned. The hot tub was already closed. The main reason we stay at a hotel when we are in the area is for the pool use and it wasn't a pleasant experience this time around. The only other negative is that the sleeper sofa in our king suite was extremely uncomfortable!!! We used an extra mattress from a roll away cot to make it more comfortable.
Stayed 2 nights while attending family functions. Loved the woodsy lodge motif. Nice breakfast area, didn't have time to swim, but looked like nice pool, hot tub, pool and foosball tables. Nice bar and gift shop. Comfortable room, nice shower, fridge and microwave. Great staff! Definitely recommend.
My son and I were visiting UIU for a campus tour and football recruiting camp. We've never stayed at a borders before and we were very pleased with our stay. The staff was friendly and super helpful. My son forgot his registration form for the camp. We tried to use the lobby computer but had difficulty accessing the site needed. The woman behind the counter allowed my son to use the front desk computer to print the form. We had no idea where the campus was and the woman had us on track in minutes, all while checking in guests from a class reunion. I dubbed her the problem solver. The room was on the small side but adequate, well furnished, and impeccably clean. The pool was clean and towels plentiful considering the hotel was booked to capacity, I was impressed. The bijou lounge was a welcome stop after the tour and camp. Beverage prices were awesome. The bartender/desk attendant was super friendly and attentive. Three younger customers had obviously been imbibing heartily else where and were challenging but the young woman dealt with them respectfully and in a tactful and friendly manner. The breakfast was well stocked (again, impressive due to capacity crowd). The stay was peaceful and I will definitely seek borders when seeking lodging in the future. Special thanks to the problem solver and nice job fixing the ice machine!
