Pros: front office staff were friendly and prompt; convenient location; pool.
Cons: there were drip marks on the floor of the room and scuff marks on the bathroom floor which I think could've been cleaned thoroughly; the shower curtain was jerry-rigged and needs replacing; flies in the room; the metal threshold on the room door needs to be screwed down (tripping hazard); one room chair is not enough; the washing machines *and* ice machine weren't working (seems odd); not enough half and half to last throughout the morning coffee service.
After reading other reviews I was a bit nervous to stay here but there were no other rooms available on short notice for a football weekend. The staff (Lindsey was especially helpful) were all very friendly. Our room was conveniently and promptly serviced while we were gone for the morning. The kids enjoyed the pool (yes, it had some leaves and such floating in it, but it's an outdoor pool....), although I had to dig through the pool towels provided to find a couple that looked clean and weren't stained. The room had a bit of a funky smell but the air conditioning worked quite well on a hot weekend. The water pressure did leave something to be desired but we did not run out of hot water as others have mentioned. The clerk told us that there were brand new owners and that they were intending to address some issues. With a few updates and some sprucing up of the grounds this motel could easily be an affordable alternative to the more expensive hotels in the area.
Motel 6 Moscow, Idaho advertises a "sparkling" pool. However, when you arrive, you will see that it is anything but "sparkling". There are brown stains all over the bottom as well as dead flies all over the top. We complained about the pool as soon as we saw it. The front desk told us that the pool was clean. They said the marks were just "stains". I specifically chose this hotel for my visit to be able to bring my nephew swimming. It would have been against my better judgement to put a child in that pool.
Furthermore, as soon as we arrived, we requested not to have any form of housekeeping services during our stay. The front desk agent ensured us that no one would enter our room. However, on the second day when we returned to our room we found someone had been there as there were fresh towels in the bathroom.
Lastly, the shower was practically unusable. The water was either extremely hot or cold. No happy medium.
Upon check out, we informed the front desk of the issues (again) and they said that there was nothing they would do. They blamed the fact that the housekeeping came into our room on having new employees. This is unacceptable.
We came to Moscow to take our daughter to college for her first year, we chose Motel 6 for the fact that we have had good visits before and if something was wrong they took care of the issue but this time the air conditioner was not working and the room was hot and we did not sleep hardly at all. The room was a lot smaller that we have seen before and it looked like it was painted by a 2 year old. We I told the front desk about the tempature and how we had not gotten much sleep they just told me sorry and that their maintenance would look at it. I know this one place does not speak for all Motel 6's but I would not stay at this one again.
Graduation price $175 per night. Room air was stale missing a chair, dirty and there was BLACK MOLD all around the shower. TERRIBLE PLACE AT A 4 star price. You'd be better off bringing your sleeping bag and sleep in a park.
