This was a good hotel in a converted fort .The grounds were interesting including an aviary (which you cannot approach) and the location was superb. Our room was large with a terrific shower. Free parking inside the walls and a giant pool and much public space made this seem luxurious. Breakfast was good, although no one on the staff really acknowledged our presence which made it seem a bit cold. The front desk staff was helpful.
This lovely hotel with nice gardens and pool is located inside an old Fort, on a hill above the city. The feeling to be here is very charming, you feel the history and at the same times you get all modern comforts here. I liked the fancy, colourful chairs and sofas in the lobby. You would never expect them in a medieval place like this. Big, positive surprise. There is even a chapel on site that looks very pretty. Good standard of rooms and food. Nice staff and pretty good service. If you happen to visit Chaves, this hotel is a very good option.
The hotel is part of an old fortification with the old town below.
We arrived on motorcycles after a long hot riding day as recommended by UK Ride Magazine, check in was fast and efficient, our room was comfortable large and well equipped - also had a refrigerator and good A/C.
The hotel is locate a few minutes walk from the old town area with its many bars and restaurants. These will gradually fill up later in the evening.
The hotel has a great pool and comfortable lounge bar seating, parking is safe (for bikes) in the large cobbled courtyard.
The breakfast room had most of the usual items, with hot options being bacon and scrambled eggs.
Very good option in Chaves (maybe the best?). Hotel located within the walls of the historical fortress of Chaves. The hotel is split in 2 buildings. There's a very beautiful small church (public access) and big pool, with a bar area. The city center is at walking distance.
