Pros- Nothing; Internal beautification costs are futile if external ambience is bad.
Cons- Any property situated at anywhere in the hills can not be used as hotels! - It should be felt by the owners & booking agencies (OYO & others). Unfortunately only cons are there & NO pros. NO motorable approach road ( difficult for Senior CTZ), some window-less rooms, some shabby & damp rooms. Apparently, they have to make business & tourists have to stay there on pre-booking unknowingly of the actual state. Fortunately on 231018, they arranged a comparatively better room after one night...thanks to them.
its very calm place that we want. its little bit up from regular street its odd for aged people. large & clean room. I love that place. I recommend that for young aged couple who search a budgeted room.
Friendly staff upon arrival and also throughout stay, bed in room that we where given was not overally comfortable, room was small and cosy, found that there was not a phone in room that we could use if we had wanted room service, rooms facility’s where okay, food was tasty and was very well presented,
I visited Darjeeling in May when the weather was slightly off, with the sky showing signs of rainfall. Nevertheless, the pinewood hotel was what you would call "a comfy getaway" from the busy hustle and bustle of the city life. It was extremely reminiscent of the comfy little cottage rooms in the movies, and the staff was indeed very lovely. The entire aesthetic of the hotel made me and my family feel like we were at home away from home. The view from our room was also quite splendid and we could see the entire darjeeling town below us, along with the surrounding hills. All in all, this is every traveller's perfect Darjeeling dream for a quiet and comfy visit, with the staff and the entire ambience of the place exuding warmth and c
First the negatives. A huge pile of stinky garbage sits uncleared in the Rockville street right outside the hotel alley making it hard to walk to the hotel. Next there is no lift which makes it hard for senior citizens to climb to the second floor. Also the hotel doesn’t have centralised heating. For those cold nights, you need to rent space heaters for addl rs. 300 per night. Next the positives. Extremely friendly set of staff. Very accommodative manager who does things to make your stay pleasant. His two helpers were always at our beck and call. I never sensed any tiredness in their faces to serve us. They made breakfast on time in the mornings and helped us with our luggages without having to request them. The rooms look decent with a nice view of the mountains. You can enjoy the view sipping free tea in your room.
