Very friendly staff who take care of you all the time. Rooms were cleaned, comfortable and specious.
Food was delicious. check-in was impressive and quick.
Very convenient location in town. Clean pool and the nice beach made our short visit very enjoyable.
we recently went on a staff trip to Jaffna and picked this wonderful resort for our stay. The place is amazing. pool is open to the beach and beach side is well kept and maintained properly. we really enjoined the poolside and beach. food was good and great help from all the staff. I would like to suggest that the hotel management should make a separate menu for large groups as menus were all individually priced which is not convenient when travelling with a group. rooms were spacious and clean.

I stayed at Thalsevana on 14th September 2018 with a few friends. We got a room on ground level because I have limited mobility and could not manage the flight of stairs. The view from the room was stunning. The staff was polite and helpful and went out of their way to help.
The downside was the long walk to the breakfast buffet area. It would have been a lot nicer if the dinning room was closer to the rooms. My friends stayed on an upper level room and they said the view was incredible at night time.
A few suggestions to improve would be to make the place more disable friendly and have ramps installed for wheelchair access.
The room was huge and beds comfortable. Once again the toilet and shower was a disappointing. The toilet fittings were leaking and badly maintained. The bathroom itself was like a huge room but with a single sink and very small shower cubicle.
If these things are improved then it would have been a five star experience.
The pool is medium sized but was out of order. However we had a dip in the sea which is definitely better than a pool.
There is a quaint restaurant on the premise called "yaaldevi" built on a single railway carriage. This was also neglected and out of service. It's a pity to neglect this because it would have increased the holiday experience. If in the future the management decide to operate this, please ensure there is a ramp installed to get into the carriages.
This was my first visit to Jaffna and one couldn't imagine that a civil war ravaged in the afea for nearly 33 years. Business is booming and hustle and bustle everyday. More and more people visit Jaffna everyday so it would be wonderful to see Thalsevana improved before my next visit.
It was bad experience from beginning of booking till departure from thal sevana.
We book hotel on 22nd of August over the phone around 16.00 o clock and from 18.00 o clock onwards till 22.00 o clock we were calling to hotel to inform them to prepare dinner for us so nobody answer the phone. Then we reach hotel at 22.30 and there was no foods available kitchen was closed. We all struggle to get foods for the kids only. Rooms & bathroom very pathetic condition also room key can use for to open any doors. No bedsheets & bath towel provided.Its not value for what we paid.
Any hotel selling rooms must be keep open kitchen 24 hours and breakfast has to be include. Swimming pool was very bad conditions. Staff have no hospitality experience to manage customers service.
We respect our army and we love them so still we wants to visit the hotel.
Kindly request to management to train the staff and maintain quolity & standerd reason is many foreign people also stay there. Its bad name for sri lankan tourism industry.
Stayed two nights this week. This is my second visit last was in 2011. Man, this place has developed the rooms are Hugh, the bathrooms are twice the size of normal once. If I start from the beginning, the reception it was lightning fast, the front office staff was very helpful. The rooms are fantastic. The pool wasn't up to my satisfaction, but it didn't bother me because of the private beach that we had. Food was good, but its average. The staff was fantastic, I have never seen so helpful set of people. So dedicated to satisfy guests. Loved my stay.
