Great if you like camping at scale! This place is vast! Good, clean and modern facilities, well stocked shop, long strip of beach with quality sun loungers, inflatable play area in the sea, a salt water pool, all you could want if 'holiday camp' camping is your thing. But if you want camping with personality and a little more back to basics, best to give it a miss. 3 stars maybe a bit unfair but it was very expensive and when we decided to leave a few days early we were charged for every day we had reserved.
The camp is really big, so better take your bicycle to find a free spot. Of course the best spots are in front of the sea, but also on top of the hill you have a great view over the sea. The pitches are pretty big and offering really enough space for all your equipment. Everything seems to be very new or recently modernized. The sanitary facilities are extremly clean - I really appreciated this! Staff was very friendly and helpful. You can do various excursions like a fish picnic or just take the bus to Rovinj - leaving in front of the reception.
There is an animation programm for kids and adults (unfortunately no yoga) and plenty of sport activities around the camp - badminton, soccer, tennis, minigolf. You can even visit the outdoor gym which is located close to the natural pool for kids.
We discovered a lot of beautiful beach spots and beach bars while running on the other side of the camp. The beach inside the camp is very nice, there are free parasols and sun loungers so you do not need to carry your own ones. We stayed in June and it was never crowded.
The shop is offering what you need for BBQ and breakfast, there is a small fruit and vegetable kiosk and one more small store where you can buy beach stuff and international newspapers. Actually no need to leave the camp.... we had a really good and restorative time. I think Val Saline is a perfect place for families and couples of all ages.
There is only one restaurant for dinner - Saline. Honestly we love to have BBQ when we are camping, but the restaurant is extremly delicious! We really recommend to go there - the squid and fish is amazing. Also the traditional croatian courses. Pizza is served all day. If you prefer having BBQ you can also go there and watch the sunset while enjoying the great housewine and view over the sea. During the rush hour (6,30pm -8,30pm) the restaurant can be pretty crowded and the stuff is really running. Stay patient - it is worth to wait.
For sure this is one of our favorite campsides. From Munich we travelled 5,5 hours - so no problem to come for a longer weekend. Only thing you need to know - there are no pets allowed!
Good location, bus for Rovinj in front of main gate, very very clean, nice beach, even natural swimming pool, outside fitness, ... Sport facilities, beach chairs ... for free (hard to find). Toiltes very clean, with a nice relaxing music. Great for families, but not crowded even for older people who is looking for quiet days. We all really enjoyed. Staff is friendly, they promise even wellness in 2017.
Camping started in 2016 on renewed and expanded location of another campsite. Pretty large, terraced camping (approx 400 pitches), beautifully located directly at the beach a few km south of Rovinj. You cannot reserve ptiches, best pitches are directly at the beach so be sure to be there early in the morning when people leave to get the best place. All pitches have same price. Many pitches are under trees and have shadow at least part of the day. Good facilities (swimming pool, small supermarket, sports facilities, restaurant, bar, kindergarten), well kept premisses, clean, Music thorughout the day at the bar / swimmingpool. Evening kids disco from 8-9PM and music noise from campsite next door from 9-12PM. We were there in high season and camping is t hen expensive (we paid around €80 a night for family of 5, tent, car and fridge rental).
We stayed for a week in our own motorhome, it was worth the trip down as the campsite was everything we were after. Located right on its own beach, with two lovely salt pools. Really good restaurant on site with gorgeous views of the sun sets. You can even go on boat trips from the campsite jetty. The staff were great also. Rovinj is a bus or short taxi away, advisable as it's impossible to park. It's a lovely place to visit for a stroll in the evening. Highly recommend the site.
Only bit of advice is to go through the croatian/Slovenian border very early of very late, it took us 4 hrs on the way back.
