Such a beautiful and quiet boutique villas. Very calm and relaxing. The villa was 1 bedroom and was very comfortable. Nice deep pool, comfortable bed, nice outdoor shower and bathroom. Lovey clean room with nice linen. The staff were fantastic. Only a couple of downfalls, they need to add a rack outside so you can hang up your pool towels to dry and be good if the WiFi was a little better. Thanks for a great stay I will be back.

We flew from Jakarta to Bali on the last day of 2016 with airport pick-up arranged with the hotel. Amid arranging the transportation 3 days prior to arrival, we made phone calls to the hotel and a follow up email informing them our flight details. The airport pickup service was USD35 with additional new year surcharge, we mutually agreed to the terms. There we arrived at midnight of the new year in bali just to find out that no driver was waiting for us. We made at least 3 phone calls to the hotel and the staff told us the driver was at international terminal when we have previously informed them our flight was from Jakarta. After 40 minutes of waiting and no phone calls from the hotel to follow up, we finally met our driver who took us to the hotel. On the next day, we told the hotel staff that the drop off service on departure day would no longer be required as we had arranged it elsewhere.

Our flight leaving Ubud departs at 9:45am and it takes about 80 minutes travel time to the airport. We checked out from the hotel at around 6:30am. Standard procedure - returned keys, staff checked our file and informed us we were free to go. So we assumed that the airport transfer cost was charged against our credit card they had on record.

Less than a week back from Bali, we got an email from hotel staff claiming 1. We did not pay for our airport transfer service; 2. We did not inform them that wr were checking out early, and that if we don't pay, "We have your copy of your passport here, so we can report this case as needed". As a frequent traveler I have not heard of "checking out early" was ever an issue, especially when they were aware of our flight time. Secondly, when we checked out from the hotel, the staff did not inform us of any outstanding balance. It is simply unfair to blame the carelessness of their own staff on us "checking out too early". The tone of the email is simply rude and unprofessional. We are deeply disappointed.

In all fairness, location of the hotel was alright, requires a long walk or a little driving from ubud central. Facilities wise, nice quiet jungle view from room and private pool, the room was clean and airconditioned. Although the path getting to the villas was a steep slope, it gets very slippery especially after rain, and/or with luggage.

Overall it wasnt the most pleasant experience with Anusara hotel although Ubud remains a nice place to visit. I wouldnt recommend to anyone if service quality as such persists.

Response from Agung G, General Manager at Anusara Luxury villas
Responded 2 Feb 2017
Dear Guest, the driver was mistakingly sent to international which is only 10 minutes drive away, the driver informed us he was only 15 to 20 minutes late. ( this was just after mid night New Year's Eve ) We did apologise to you for this and you accepted the apology suddenly the wait time has ballooned out to 40 minutes in your review. Fact is you knowingly left Anusara, without paying for the airport pick up service, your story that you thought that we had charged the fare to your credit cards doesn't gel for us. The reason being your booking was made by Agoda who pay us directly and we never had your credit card details, which we believe you were aware of. You were told to pay the fare to the front desk before you took a day tour and came back after 11pm, The checking in and out staff finish 11pm and start 7am, ( we are a boutique resort of only 8 villas not a 200 room hotel). You told our staff you would be checking out after 7am, you said 7:30 to us and conveniently left at 6:30am. Bottom line for all us staff at Anusara is the fact that you were dishonest, and you didn't like the email we rightfully sent you reminding you of your ways , yes it was direct. We will be surprised if TripAdvisor does not remove this review. Agung and all the Anusara staff

Our private villa at Anusara was a dream come true! We loved our room, infinity pool, cabana, and how quiet it was since the property is outside of central Ubud and is tucked away in lush greenery.

But above all, we loved the staff. The friendliest, kindest, and most accommodating staff we’ve ever had on a vacation. Whether it was helping us with activity/tour bookings, shuttle service, recommendations, or going out of their way to make sure we loved the food, they made us feel so special.

So sad to leave, but we’ll definitely be back to Anusara on our next trip to Bali!

We stayed at Anusara for the first part of our Bali getaway. Initially, I had a bit of FOMO when I booked the Deluxe Suite... but I needn't worry because it was honestly everything we needed.

The room was perfect for my partner and I. We had our own pool and a super comfortable bed. The staff were incredibly attentive and always more than happy to assist us - whether it be organising our transport for the day or to relocate the cheeky gecko from our bathroom. It's so peaceful here, apart from breakfast, you rarely bump in to the other guests!

The daily breakfast was one of my favourite parts of the day, overlooking the rice fields, eating fresh fruit and many other delicious things (so much variety!) - try the Pineapple Pancakes if you get a chance!

The Villas are not really within walking distance to any town centre, but they provide a complimentary shuttle to Ubud at different times of the day/evening or offer to arrange transport if you need additional times.

As part of our package, we had a 1-hour poolside massage each which was wonderful. We utilised the room service occasionally for a small bite to eat but found there wasn't as much variety for vegetarian meals so went into Ubud city for lunches and dinners.

Overall our stay was amazing and we will definitely be back when we have the chance!

We had the privilege of staying in the Anusara Luxury Villa for two weeks, and it was the most memorable experience for us. We came for our honeymoon, and enjoyed every minute of it! Not only were the staff so friendly and welcoming (shoutout to Wulan, Gung, Wayan, Arta, Rika, and the chef ❤️), but our honeymoon villa overlooked the jungle and our room was clean and pristine.

The hotel provides free shuttles that take you to the Ubud City Center, and all the markets, museums, and restaurants are in walking proximity from the drop off destination. The hotel also provides free breakfast, which they provide five different options from a classic American continental breakfast to a traditional Balinese breakfast. Because we were there for an extended time, we were able to try all the different breakfast varieties, which we all loved. They provide massage services where they bring two masseuses to your villa where you enjoy a relaxing and private spa time near the pool. Additionally, they have biking tours, where we were able to explore the nearby rice patties, and visit the village of one of the staff and try some Balinese coffee.

Overall an amazing experience with a lovely staff, and we will definitely coming back here the next time we are in the Bali area! We highly recommend you stay in this villa hotel :)

Hi Savan, We were upgraded to the best room with swimming pool. It was gigantic, with a kitchen/dinning area leading on to the swimming pool (that had an outdoor lounge area). The bedroom was a good size, with an en suite bathroom, an outdoor shower and a outdoor bath. The only downside was that swimming pool was not as private as we had anticipated. Even though there was only one person working in the rice paddies (literally next to the property), the swimming pool area was visible from to them (not that they were peeking in or interested in the slightest).
