Hotel is new and modern. Very nice terrace on the roof where you can sit and enjoy the views (you can see Shwedagon pagoda's roof from there). We arrived at 7 AM and hotel staff allowed us to check-in, because they had enough free rooms. That was very nice. Also they allowed to have a breakfast that morning. That was wonderful!
The pool on the roof is very small, something like 3x5 meters. There is no possibility to swim here, only to sit and to look around :) Location of the hotel is not the best, because when you got outside, there is nothing to see and to do. You must take a taxi or go on foot ~15-20 minutes to reach main streets

We had a great and comfortable stay at Hotel Shwe Yee!

It is located in the suburb of Bahan and if you find you're taxi driver has a hard time locating the hotel; mention the hotel is only a few blocks away from the local Shwe Ba Restaurant (taxi drivers are also familiar with the location if you mention Denko Patrol Station and Aung Thu Kha Restaurant near Shwe Gone Daing).

We found that Bahan is located well as it takes less then 20 mins (depending on traffic) to get to other areas of Yangon like Bogyoke Markets, Junction City, Downtown Yangon. We chose Bahan instead of popular tourist sites like Lanmadaw, because it's quieter (Downtown Yangon never sleeps)!

The hotel rooms are spotlessly clean with great amenities - beds, bathroom and linens were really clean. if you're in need of room cleaning service, you can request daily room cleaning service for free. Hotel also has laundry services(fees apply) and you can request your clothing to be washed or ironed for 2000~3000 kyats and if you make a request before 10am (I think), they will return items before 6pm on the same day. If you want light snacks or meals, you can order room service which runs till 9pm ish and main dishes range from little as 3000 kyats (you have to try their stir-fried noodles and burmese-style chicken salad!).

I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Hotel Shwe Yee, they had a fusion of western/burmese style food. I particularly liked the days when they prepared traditional Burmese foods like Shan noodles, Mohinga, Shan Nga Htamin, Kyaut Kyaw to name a few. If you can't skip breakfast without some scrambled eggs, there's an Egg Station at the buffet where you can request any types of egg you like.

The rooftop has a great view of Shwe Dagon Pagoda at night and there's also a rooftop bar/restaurant and facilities such as a swimming pool and gym. If you have time early in the morning , pay Shwe Dagon Pagoda a visit which is only a short walk away!

The only thing I would request is self-laundry service area (like the coin-operated laundries in Japan) to make it easier to wash clothes but it's very uncommon to find these in Yangon. The Hotel has all non-smoking rooms but in one of the rooms we stayed in, it stank of cigarette odor from the previous guest but the hotel staff did their best to mask the odor.

Lastly, thank you to the kind, friendly staff at Hotel Shwe Yee for your great service and hospitality during our stay!

This hotel is really the best hotel in Yangon money can buy. Location near by Shwedogan Podoga was just perfect.. New recently open hotel with modern and cozy rooms. The staff was just wonderful, allways helpping with a smile. We came from the flight really early in the morning and we were giving a room right away. Buffet breakfast was tasty. Hotel has a small swimming pool on the topfloor with great city views. Next time in Yangon we do know where to stay.

We enjoyed our stay so much! The staff was so kind, thoughtful and hospitable. Every time we saw them they were helpful and genuinely happy to see us and help with anything. From meals, to laundry, to learning some Burmese, to helping us book a us ticket, and they made a special surprise for husband's birthday! The view from the roof is great, the breakfast was delicious and big, the the pool is a fun place to relax the bed was comfy, its just a short walk or a very short taxi to many parks, gardens, shopping centers and Shwedagon Pagoda.

My wife and I decided to stay here with our family, because it was in a desirable location and it had good reviews. We book the hotel through agoda.com. I chose this hotel because the listing showed it had to king size beds and the price was very reasonable. Our friend medicine at the airport and went with us in a taxi to make sure that we got there without any run around. That's a good idea because this hotel is a little bit off the beaten track and later on many of the taxi drivers did not know where it was, even with GPS. The hotel is in walking distance from Shwedagon Pagoda and there are many small restaurants nearby. When we got to the shwe hotel there was no such room with two king size beds. I argue with the man at the front desk because he wanted to charge us extra to put another bed in the room. I showed him the Agoda listing but he did not know what to do he said you will have to talk with the owner. It was quite frustrating. When we spoke to the owner, she said she would give us some kind of discount and said that it was the hotel's fault. I don't believe we received any type of discount at all. This seems to be an issue that we will have to bring up with Agoda. It's very difficult to get in contact with Agoda, because there is no Agoda office in Myanmar. You will have to try to contact and a go to office in Thailand, Australia, or Kuala Lumpur. All of our efforts to try to contact Agoda failed. With that said I was stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The bathrooms in the hotel were nice and modern with good amenities. The shower had excellent water pressure way beyond my expectations, and it also had really good hot and cold running water. They were plenty of towels for our stay and the place was really clean. The hotel does not have much of a view but there is a small but decent size pool and a gym both located on the rooftop. Breakfast at the hotel was surprisingly really good. There was quite a selection to choose from cold cereals, coffee tea and juices, fresh assorted fruits, and hot breakfasts including noodle dishes, rice dishes, meats and vegetables. You could also order eggs on demand. the hot side of the breakfast changed every day. When I say hot I actually mean warm at best. The breakfast staff was very friendly and welcomed us each morning during our five day stay. I have to give the hotel and their staff a ton of credit for being super honest. My wife dropped her license in the street they found it and brought it to us. while paying for the taxi cab I dropped some credit cards they picked it up and brought it to us. One day at breakfast I left my bag in the dining room with $2,000 in cash, they never rifled through it and if they did they kept it safe and actually called me to let me know I forgot it. My wife also forgot a pair of her favorite shorts pants at the hotel. We went away for a few days and they held it for us when we got back. every time we left or right at the hotel there staff was gracious and always helped us with our bags and getting into our Taxi. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay there again. Just make sure that if your booking through a hotel site that the room that you see is actually what you get.
