We had arranged to spend 3 nights at the Sebel and we are very familiar with Coolangatta. We were very pleased with the whole set up from the secure underground parking to the quality of the clean and well presented apartment (1203).

We were advised that Reception closed at 12.00pm on a Sunday and our keys were locked in the safe with easy instructions SMS to us with details.

Apartment has outstanding views over the beautiful Coolangatta surf beach.

Master bedroom has the same wonderful view and there is plenty of storage and excellent ensuite.

Kitchen is well presented and fitted very well. Everything works well.

Pool and hot tub are on lower level.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay over 3 nights. Happy to endorse and recommend for a great location with perfect views.

Stayed here over 3 nights, had a 12th floor room with fabulous outlook across Coolangatta beach. Everything in walking distance, resturants, shops, etc. Magnificent beaches with Coolangatta to the right and Kirra around the point with walking paths along the beachfronts. Rooms are clean and modern, we had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment which had laundry, kitchen etc and a large balcony to sit and watch the ocean roll. really good.

Room Tip: Must get a room with an ocean view, but I think maybe all rooms face the water.

Comfortable amenities, casual, relaxed ambience with convenient location beside the ocean. Spectacular 180 degree views from extensive balcony, perfect for whale spotting! Family vacation with four generations, was a most memorable long weekend with evening cocktails and music on the balcony. Watch the wind; it whipped up and whistled round us, so were unable to enjoy the balcony as much as would have liked. All up a casual suite, perfect for entertaining a few friends and family.

We enjoyed a relaxing 3 night stay in a one bedroom apartment. The Apartment was a good size, very clean and comfortable. We had a lovely view over the foreshore gardens and beach (I think that all apartments face the beach, it is a 15 storey building). There are plenty of shops and restaurants within an easy walk. The balcony has louvre shutters which can slide open to reveal all or part of the view, but also can keep the hot sun and rain out, give you some privacy and allow you to use the balcony in all types of weather. Coolangatta has lovely beaches and gardens, we look forward to staying again.

I have become increasingly annoyed and frustrated with how I am being taken for granted by an every increasing number of places who are more than happy to take your hard earned while delivering and ever decreasing quality of accommodation.

Yes the location was fantastic off set by the loud road noise not to mention the pub and back packers a cross the road with the wondering "drunks" yelling and screaming in the early hours, but still this was not my complaint.

My ongoing complaint is that there is NO systems in place to monitor the wear and tear and also forcing the owners to maintain and upgrade with the rooms being a strata titled,an investment property.

Yes we would "not" have as many places to stay without the accommodation being an investment properties but the sad norm is that way too many owners today just won't spend the money needed although still expecting you and I to paying well over 1k per week and to be happy to boot..

Please let me be more specific -

# The mattresses in the second room springs were sticking out so badly that if you slept on your side for too long you could end up in intensive care with a punctured lung.

Just wire springs wrapped in fabric, completely unsatisfactory.

# Also in this room there was a huge lump of wood that masqueraded as a bed side lamp, this monstrosity should have been in the living area where it belonged not in the bedroom.

You could only turn this huge lump of wood on or off by the wall switch that was under one of the bed ends on the wall down low near the floor,it had no inline switch, care factor zero.

# The toilet bowl in the main bedroom has a long external crack in it right up to the start of the bowl being very dangerous in my opinion,if you were a larger person and the bowl collapsed you would hate to imagine.

# The final clue to the puzzle was that the "entertainment unit" had a VCR in it,yes a video cassette player, not to mention the prints that have hung on the wall for God knows only how long.

# Also the television has seen much better days probably paired with the 1993 VCR player.

The television is full of fine lines seen with a light coloured background and watching footy of fox is hard on your eyes with the colour green very hard to watch.

# The "free internet" is not free because it does not work which is known to management, another perfect example that no one wants to spend any money except you and me.

I do honestly hate complaining but have been worn down by the continuing contempt shown to me from one place to the next with so much more that should be done but is not.

The Australian accommodation industry needs a major wake up call, spend your money wisely.

But saying that all was not lost giving a big thankyou to Danae, she is very professional, very competent and very friendly.

We arrived at 10am only hoping to park our car in the secure undercover parking but were given our room - WOW!

We wanted a late 1pm check out which we received paying only an extra $50.00 although we were happy to pay $80.00 which was known.

I am not saying that the Sebel Coolangatta was the worst, but the increasing trend of not spending any money on the room was best showcased by room No 705 sorry to say.

Thankyou very much again Danae,we appreciate your great customer service.

Duration of stay - 6 nights.

Hi Mr Ryan,
Thank you very much for your detailed feedback.

Refurbishments are taken seriously by all our owners. The challenge we have is timing of the projects and meeting bookings we have already in the system.

You will find that during May, June , July that a general refurbishment like painting and furniture replacements will take place within apartments.

FREE Wifi is available and does work, issues with Wifi are generally around settings on different devices.

As a consumer we are always looking for the best product or service at the best price. At $166 per night even with some of the issues you raise......this still represents value for money for most people.

Thank you very much for your comments as they show someone cares about the industry as a whole and also thank you for acknowledging Danae

Regards
William

We had a room at the front so had beautiful ocean views. As recommended by others you would be better off booking direct and requesting a room with ocean views to ensure you get what you want. It was a fantastic place to stay so I highly recommend it.
